If you're used to Delrin, UHMW (greenhorns) are slow as ####. So go with Delrin if you like it. I use Delrin for tech and UHMW for soft wheel stuff (as I and others have said before).

uh oh! I think I demolished my new miter saw.... and almost cut off my finger in the process!
somehow the blade caught or something... and sliced through the metal blade guides! I hope this is covered under warranty because the blade won't even spin anymore

Re: ⓂⓈⓉ MudSlide Gloves+Pucks: available 3/24/09!
read your info on the slide pucks, but i have to disagree on the durability of delrin vs uhmw.
i bought gravity slide gloves last summer. they had just started supplying them with delrin pucks so mine came with both the delrin and the uhmw. i slid on the uhmw a few times, noticed a considerable amount of wear for how little i'd slid, and then tossed on the delrin pucks.
the delrin pucks lasted me from last july to the end of may this year. i skate almost every day and like to drift corners a lot, so the gloves got a lot of use. i just put the uhmw pucks back on because the delrin ones are super thin and almost done for, and after two days of hard riding i've worn through more than half of the pucks.
i dunno about you, but i'm pretty damn sure delrin lasts a hell of a lot longer than uhmw. haven't tried uhmw-pe, but i can't imagine it lasting as long as my delrin pucks did.

If you use both for really hard sliding instead of taking corners, your results will change. Or their UHMW sucks, but I wouldn't know, I only have their Delrin pucks (and I wore through a few mm's in one session).

I have to agree with MJKam11. During the last 8 months I've killed 5 sets of gravity delrin pucks. Sure they are fast and I loved them but they were not very durable. Now I'm using mudstones. Probably the best invention for tech sliding after EW Slide As

I would pay the double for a set of mudstones palm pucks. There is nothing comparable on the market. They are absolutely incredible if you are into tech sliding.

They are the best pucks I have ever used. The only slide that has put a dent in them are long pressure spins (but they put a dent in every puck i've used, some more than others). For Downhill they're funky because they're too slick, but for tech sliding........oh man they do not stick ever, even on hot days. They're expensive but for me they're worth it because when my pucks cause me to screw up it gets me realllllllllllyyy pissed off.

I can attest to this. I take my mud stones out in the Florida sun and they still slide nice and groovy.

Re: ⓂⓈⓉ MudSlide Gloves+Pucks: available 3/24/09!
My Mechanix w/ full blacktops just arrived. These gloves ares SICK! Really, really comfy, and also breathable. Once I actually went out sliding (on my soft wheel setup) these pucks slide like no other, and it's easier to hook up after the slide. I'll hopefully be able to report about tech sliding after my next tech slide sesh (sundayish)
I'm itchin' for a sandwich.

I have had some of your gloves for a while now and they are really holding up quite well. I have lost a puck off one thumb, but other than that they are great. The little rubber things on top of the mechanix gloves saved my fingers from excessive rash on my hand. Great gloves!

thanks man! glad you like them. Those Mechanix gloves really are top quality
P.S. If you want to send me a couple bucks to cover shipping, I'll send you a new thumb puck
