everyone rants and raves about how good your gloves are on the fish, sooo I figured i'd investigate...

sorry if this has all been explained before, but the question is, which gloves are the ones for me?
i'm a lanky speedboarder (as of recently) and i'm dirt poor, oh and i live in England...

i'm not a genius either, so i cant work out how much of a difference there is between the Greenhorns, MudStones and Blacktops

if you could get back to me with suggestions and pricing including UK shipping that'd be good thanks

As others have said, Greenhorns. Greenhorns are the pucks you want if you're speedboarding (or doing anything other than techsliding).

Joe, for speedboarding and general riding (not tech sliding) I reckon the mechanix with greenhorns is the best option. I've been riding these gloves for downhill in the UK for about a year now and tried various combos, that one seems to be the money shot.

Difference between the pucks is:

Greenhorns: BIG, last for ages, slowest slide but not slow by any means, perfect for soft wheeled action.

Blacktops: Delrin, faster slide than greenhorns, but wear quicker.

Mudstones: Delrin AdvancedFriction, same as blacktops but last 3 times as long and may be even faster. Smaller sized puck, great for tech sliding.

Here's the quote from my original order to the UK to give you an idea of costs:

2 pairs of mechanix gloves with full velcro = $25 x 2 = $50
1 pair of mechanix gloves with palm velcro = $25
1 set of greenhorn palm and finger/thumb pucks = $15

All shipped out to the UK = $14.20

Because if you are sliding right, the puck is gliding across the pavement, not getting stuck on it. Only time things get ripped off is if you catch an edge on the puck. The bevels are there to reduce catching.

To be fair, the velro is there so the pucks DO come off at the right time at high speeds instead of trying to tear the glove/your hand off if you catch something bad. I've only had pucks come off once and I was in the process of crashing in a ditch 15 foot off the road I was skating.

do the $15 gloves last for a while? its a stupid question, but would the palm pucks and gloves hold up to about 6 months of light sliding?

I've never tried the $15 gloves, but the pucks will massively last. I've just about managed to kill off my bevel after almost a year.
