The velcro cuff on the Mechanix glove is very discrete. Its not big and bulky.... like, say, the Loaded gloves. They only go about an inch down your wrist past your palms. It's almost physically impossible to drag the cuff on the pavement. You would literally would have your forearm flat on the ground with your wrist bent back at no less than 90* for them to ever touch. Unless you've got some floppy wrists, I don't really see this happening
I have been using a pair of these gloves (with different pucks) for almost 6 months now. I mess up tons of slides, and never once has the cuff ever touched the ground. This is not a poor design by any means. The Mechanix gloves are very well designed..... they fit like no other. Try them and you will see
