YEA! A FD Thread! (And my first post)

Deck that I found, and sadly I cant ride - Cara-Beth Burnside Pro Model - With original Flexdex trucks and wheels - less then 2 miles on the board - Been in storage.

Cara-Beth deck next to my Kalani Robb

    Kalani Robb setup -
    Element WW II Fighter griptape
    Gullwing Super Pro III Trucks
    Flexdex wheels
    Swiss bones Reds

Original Kalani Robb graphic - Pulled off the deck in 2000 and applied it to a piece of Plexi

And Finally my Wingnut "Blue Edition" - Going thru a redo.

    Wingnut setup-
    Regular grip
    10" invador trucks
    Unknown wheels
    Swiss bones Ceramic bearings

I got the trucks and their great but its actually bottoming out on me, i think because of the extended wheel base did you have any problems with it?

Got my Pro 40 last week, some of the last ones I assume; gullwing trucks, but with seismic wheels.
I like it, although it's quite heavy.
I recommend grinding the sides of the deck with wet sandpaper (up to 800+) and wax them.
This will prevent you from being bitten by those little glass fibres if you don't wear gloves.
Actually that's the only annoying thing about the deck.

ya the slalom is a very thin board and unless your under 145 lbs. i wouldnt recomend that you extend the wheel base. i would revert back to the regular wheel base, glad you like it though. that board is a carving machine, with new bushings its even better

Im looking for my first longboard and I really like the rubber sole. Would it be a good board for me for cruising and riding around?

Looking to find a vintage Flexdex longboard preferably the Kelly Slater or Wingnut board. Had them when I was younger and looking to find one again. Please shoot me an email if you have anything.

To answer your question, that is a Wingnut 41. It's basically the same as a regular Pro40 but with a flat nose and tail. This model has been discontinued so cherish that one you have... it's rare! I believe we have one here in the shop but it's not for sale ha! While I'm here I want to let everyone know that we brought back the original color of the Fat Daddy. The new red and black color scheme is in stock as well! We just stocked up and get em while they are hot!

Well I wasn't around the company when the Wingnut model was made/released. I do know that Wingnut is an amazing surfer and loved longboarding. He became an ambassador of the longboarding community via Flexdex. He created the Wingnut model (I'm guessing with personal [preference on the design). The Wingnut model had a tie to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (Wingnut has MS). Basically Flexdex grabbed a bunch of professional athletes (mainly surfers and skaters) and gave them opportunities to make their own creations. That's how the Surf Divas, Wingnut, and other board models were created. Hope this helps

Hey can anyone that owns a Flexdex Slalom 30 compare the flex to the LBL sally or similarly sized shortboards like the EW miniglider or the Gravity BS? I love the flex of my vanny and am looking for a shortboard with nice responsive flex. My searches have concluded with nothing and I cant find any flex tests on youtube. Thanks.

Edit: Nevermind found some threads. From what I read they have totally different flex characteristics. Flexdexs have less springy tension but also a smoother ride. Ill have to ride one to see if I like it.
