Count me in on the "bring back the reflex gumballs petition", which this thread as turned into.

I've never tried and I feel like such a lame noob. It seems these are the greatest thing since the invention of the...errrrrr...wheel. I wonder why they were discontinued and replaced by the BigZigs?

Now that they are "rare" and you can't buy them anymore how much "greater" have they become?

A couple of questions.

I've ridden gumballs and big zigs. The shape is pretty similar. The big difference is the thane. What is the difference in the ride between a big zig or gumball, both in reflex thane? (other than one mm).

I was also thinking of radiusing my slightly coned lime big zigs. I love the retro free rides. I'd love to try a taller, slightly fatter wheel with rounded edges in relfex thane. I figure, I could shave the edges of the big zigs to create this. Has anyone tried this?

If I remember correctly, Karrot cut some purple o-tangs into sideset wheels, not sure if he radiused the lips though.

Aside from the thane though, the massive difference between gballs & bZigs I'd say are the lips.

sliding reflex gumballs slows me down way quicker than sliding bigzigz

come on mate...thats not true....everything is relative to the rider and the application. For general ripping and what people now call "freeriding" (which we always just called skating) I prefer the Gumbal shape. But for speed and accuracy of line I prefer a "harder" edged wheel so I switch to something like a BigZig.

nah, i heard that they are exchanging euros with lime bigzigs. hes using them to pay for blonde european hookers
