I saw the fyre trucks at vernon this weekend and they look very interesting. spencer smith made some similar trucks with the double pivot. But I ask what's the design aspect behind the fyre's and what do they benefit for racing?
What happened to all that talk about never making the fyre because it was geezers design and you didnt want to steal it?
And looks like Big80 and Dubes are getting the carpet ripped from under their feet. Hope this stuff comes soon Chris, dont leave us hanging again.
You are on drugs my friend. You should do some fact checking before making another urban legend post like that. For the record, I have never, not even once, suggested that Geezer came up with the design of the Fyre truck. Sure, he and a million other guys on the planet have designed a truck with a fixed pivot axis, but NO ONE has ever built a truck with two parallel spherical bearings and a floating kingpin system. I created those features, and it's what set this truck design apart from the rest. Period. I also incorporate eliptical bushing seat cutouts, pivot spacers, stepped kingpins and basplates of my own design. PVD, Original, Billet, and others have fixed pivot trucks with but use different bushing and spring systems to tighten them.
I have no idea what Big80 and Dubes would have to say about me making big wheels. Maybe "Thank You Chris"? I first made DoubleWide 83mm x 78mm wheels over 4 years ago and raced them in Montreal. Momos have been around since February of 2006 (over 3 years ago). I've helped pave the way for others to make big wheels by expanding the market, competing on them and showing their viability. It costs me tens of thousands of dollars to tool up and make a single run of each wheel. I'm putting my wheels under guys who can use them. Bricin, K-Rimes, Barker, Martin, Mischo and I have Momos. Why should anyone have a problem with that?
I am constantly evolving and developing my products. I routinely obsolesce my own stuff before I even get tooled up to produce it. Why put something out on the market when I already have something designed that is even better than the original product? There are enough products out there with design flaws as it is. You'll see my stuff produced when it's right, and not until. It is my fault for putting out release dates and then not making them. I am responsible for that and I own that. I'm learning not to say anything until I have product in my hot little hands. Live and learn.
Expect good things. Be patient. There's only one of me and these things take time!
SOOOO sick! Man Abec 11 tearin up the scene. For sure picking up a set of the new wheels when there available, maybe time to sell some of my sets of every duro BZ lol
Hey Chris, good to see the product expansion yet again. You guys are making the right move with sponsoring Dakota too I think. You guys made some rad wheels and there's a lot of skaters out there to benefit.
There's so many trick and park wheels out there with nothing to sell them other than the name. I'm curious how the subLimes perform. If anyone who's ridden them cares to share their thoughts it'd be appreciated. How are they as far as flatspot resistance?
