I have a question about the red 78a zigs. Those are poured in the amber thane, correct? How does the grip of the amber thane compare to that of the reflex? How about the slide/drift?
anyone?

[Derv] 7:53 pm: mm, what if i made a board out of diamonds?
[speshlspeclsteak] 7:54 pm: you should make a board out of your jew gold
They're just classic (regular Abec11) 'thane, dyed red.

Fyres are slalom. Liquids are DH. Mischo has modded Fyres. A truck can be used in any application, the hanger width usually bars it from doing many things.

Maybe the Fyres will come in both a narrow axle slalom version, and a wider axle DH / Freeride / Carving / whatever-else-you-want-to-call-it version?
Expect good things. Be patient. There's only one of me and these things take time!
^^
That's a super important thing to realize. There is only one dude and Chaput isn't promising a release date (or if he is, don't believe it). Take it when it comes, but don't get too psyched because abec 11 has a history of getting ahead of themselves. Patience is a virtue and will be rewarded when it finally comes.

Fyre Trucks were developed as a racing truck and the first made were for slalom with 90mm to 110mm hanger widths. Wider versions were designed from the beginning, but none had been produced until recently. It's easier to drill a hole through a narrowish hanger and then press fit and and pin an axle in than it is with a wide hanger. The DH version of the Fyre Truck hangers are coming in at 159mm, 171mm, and 184mm, and use split hanger tubes to allow larger bushings. All Fyre trucks feature titanium axles. The Slalom version's hanger widths are TBD.
Mischo used a 40 degree front and a 10 degree back baseplate angle at Vernon where he banged out the top qualifying spot as well as the victory. The taller than usual bushings allow for deeper carves and because the truck doesn't stop turning, the outside wheels track instead of wanting to lift.
Even when just standing on Mischo's board in the pits, riders were commenting on how different the feel of the trucks when compared to their own where the bottom bushing and kingpin is taking on so much of the load.
The Reflex-Fyre-Biltin-Centrax combo is the sickest racing setup ever.
Sorry to be a downer...but the 86a reflex thane freerides are HORRIBLE. The slide is disgusting, they chatter like no ones business. And I can only imagine how the 89a ones would feel. I really like the feel of the 80a freerides the slides are super smooth. I'd suggest going along the lines of a softer duro like 78a or 75a. For some reason when you break out soft rounded lip wheels the drift is just amazing smooth and quiet.

I have a set of the orange plus freerides. They don't chatter, they just slide like no ones business and don't hook up well. They are kind of an awkward middle ground between a slide-a and an o-tang. Chris is a smarty, and he probably knew that, which is why he didn't put them in production.

a 10 degree back?? really? On an evo that's -12 degrees, which means it is turning the other way when he leans.
it would still turn the right way wut r u talkin bout
EDIT: or it would just not turn at all cuz both trucks are turnin diff ways
If you have a truck with a negative angle, then it will turn the opposite direction when you lean on it.
Try turning a truck around and see how it rides. Then turn both of them backwards and if you lean on the left rail, it will try to turn to the right.
