Just wanted to update you on everything that is going on with Balance Longboards.
First off this summer has been treating us very well here in Salt Lake. Besides the last few weeks of ran we have been getting, we have been getting very good response from all of our customers. We have been pumping out a lot of totally custom decks, as well as some different spins on our product line.
Secondly The Rivahh and Platypus have been huge hits. The Rivahh features a full functioning concave, while the Platypus features a kicktail. As far as we know we are the first hardwood longboard company to offer both kicktails and concave. Also with the concave it is fully customizable. Our standard concave is 7 degrees from the center of the board, but if you would like to be locked into your board a bit more we can increase the concave, or if you want a bit of a looser feel to the deck we can decrease the amount of concave. We can also adjust the concave depending on the size of the riders feet, ie for a smaller rider with smaller feet we can start the concave closer to the centerline of the board, or with a larger rider we can start the concave further out to the sides of the board. I don't think any other company in the entire skateboarding community offers this kind of customization for their concave. Both The Platypus and The Rivahh come in sizes 35" and 40", and of course custom sizing is available.
Finally we have in works for a drop through deck as well as a high end downhill board. The downhill board will still have the same same hardwood beauty of our other decks, but with the functionality of a drop deck. It will have a wedged tip and a dewedged tail as well as full concave. This board is going to have a construction process like we have never done before.
We are working our hardest everyday to push the envelope on what can be done on a hardwood longboard. Keeping the beauty of the exotic hardwoods as well as still having high performance boards. Call or email with any questions.
