Boom, gone...I started this thread, and it blew up along with the whole fish over the weekend.
As I was saying before....I just quit my dayjob for skateboarding, so I am able to keep you posted with updates, answer any product questions, and take in all the positive, and negative feedback so I can make better stuff for you.
I am in the middle of playing with speedboard design, and slidedecks...if you have any suggestions of what you would like to see speak up. I have my own ideas of possible improvements, and I would like to hear your input. Yes, I own the company, but it's your company and you are the skaters that will steer the direction. What would you do if you were me?

The snowboard style sidecut has come up a few times. Mike D digs that, but one thing is that many skaters are riding the slide decks in park, and I am afraid it would limit the possible uses. What advantage do you think it would have for sliding? I think for sliding it's possible that it would allow for more drop knee style stuff, it looks cool... It has me thinking, and it's worth some testing.
I am thinking about a slide deck for guys with gigantic feet like 10"x36"? It's too bad indy doesn't make a 179 or 189...it's 169, then 215
hmmmm...and that reminds me, Earthwing is here to support all of those that support me back..so if you are looking for anything please check with my shops first, and you can always contact me to see who has it. Mile high Mark has been carrying my stuff longer than anyone and knows it well.

Just got a nice big box from NYC today, in fact...

I guess the main benifet for a middle taper cut would be one of two things: extra room, and less weight.
For a slide board, you're not exactly gonna be cross steppin', and the feet are generally going to be placed squarely over the trucks (or close to the outside of the board, at least). It (in my mind) would just give the knee more room for single dropped knee slides (keeping both feet on the board). Weight isn't really an issue, but really, every ounce helps.
As for the park issue, I really can't see how it would limit you much, but then, I just skate the bowls, and can't ollie to save my life.

I'd go for a 10" before a side-cut. You already save weight with the composite construction; so making it look all weird isn't really necessary.
If I'm not mistaken, the Indy 215 has a 10" axle; so go for it with the magnum sliders.
If you want to do a park board, you need plenty of for the front foot and a somewhat deep concave to keep your feet locked in during those chattery pool coping grinds.
Zip hoodies would be nice.

I get my skateboards at the Soda Factory and my bones fixed at Primacare Orthopedics (Fall River, MA).
Second, on the slalom boards, the concave on the mini would be great. However, the demand probably isnt there. Flatten the nose, slide the rear truck back.

Being 6'2" I thought the mini would be the last thing I wanted to skate...I end up on that all the time. It does feel like a slolom board set up the right way, but the cool part is you can also ollie over the cones on it.
damn its hard to get your boards in australia!! like at a good price MHM dont ship here TLS does but there like too expensive its so hasrd to hget hold of a drfiter for under $242USD....however i will keep trying,
by the way is the drifter the longboard store is selling the new one?
keep up the great work!
I say 10" slider would be good, I have small feet and I still rock on the agent and its wide not 10" but close. I agree with Wells on the side cuts, it just doesnt seem needed. I would like to see more concave and tighter pockets, but I heard your new models have already done that.
When my agent dies I'll have to check earthwing out again. The original 35.5 was way too flat for me but the drifter feels worlds better, and if the new drifter has more concave and tighter pockets it might be perfect.
Good luck with everything, I love your boards, you have some of the best slide wheels ever, and definitely deserve to become huge.
Do you guys have a european distributor? If not can you get one? Especially the UK! I want a drifter, but waiting for it to come from America makes me sad

I hope so, there are a few drifters kicking around over there. I am open to suggestions.

Re: The Earthwing Skateboard Army
a 7.75 or 8" street deck would tickle my fancy
but i am a huge EW fan to this day...
started with the superballs i bought from MHS for sliding...
then the 38" drifter/tracker complete i bought from MHS...
then the superglider i bought used on SF...
now the mini is in my sights
A wider, stiffer version of the Supercharger with drop-through truck mounting. I could sell a bunch of those.
