Stop taking orders! Don't bite off more than you can chew. It seems like you keep taking orders when both you and others know you're way too busy for your own good. You must understand that waiting 5 months for a board is quite ridiculous, especially when you were known for quick building a while back (2-3 week build).
I love your work, I love what you're doing for the community, but the amount of time this has been going on for has become a bit repetitive. I suggest either getting someone to help you build or lightening the work load. The way your business is being run right now is extremely frustrating to customers. No one can say I have no word in this because I have gone through all this PM'ing with you before. This message is nothing but love. I love your company, I want to support you when the site is up, and I want my friend to ride for you!
Ivan

assumeivan, I agree and I'm no longer taking any orders. As of right now there are about 10 people who have not got their boards yet. Some are in the mail, some are ready to ship out and some are still getting done.
Alright, here's the deal everyone. I didn't want to go into a lot of detail about my personal life over the internet but I feel I owe it to those that have been waiting and those wondering what's been going on with Arcane. I've been unable to devote a lot of time to pms, emails and building for a while. My father in law was diagnosed with liver cancer and was hospitalized. He just got sent home the other day and a lot of our families attention has been on him. He lives about two and a half hours away from us so travel eats up quite a bit of time as well. They discovered fluid build up in my wife's lungs a little while ago along with some other issues and are still testing to find out the cause. She's been unable to work meaning almost no income besides mine. Along with that, my paraplegic mother had to move into our house a few months back because she's no longer able to care for herself and needs our help for most things. Lots of drama I know, believe me I know, but there it is.

You have a lot on your plate! Hang in there, I hope you all make it through this.

Austin, naturally, best wishes to you and your family during these tough times.
To everyone else on the thread:
I received my Grover on Tuesday and wanted to post a write-up; I've only had it a short time, so this won't be an in-depth review; rather, consider this a jumble of first impressions.
After two cold-ass sessions last night and tonight, I can report with pleasure that this board is really enjoyable for going out freeriding.
The concave is great, and the board sized such that its solid, stable and reliable, but lots of fun in the corners. As has been amply demonstrated, Austin builds really clean, functional boards, and the Grovers is no exception.
I've got it set-up at present on Fastracks with some broken in Lemon and Lime Bigzigs...too much fun.
As far as dimensions, this is the standard Grover that Arcane builds; check earlier in the thread for details.
Overall, I'm really, really very happy with it, thus far.
I am really looking forward to hitting the garages with it as the winter progresses.
Earlier in the thread, you can find pics posted by Austin of the concave, etc - here are a few I snapped tonight:

You definitely do have a lot on your hands Austin, and hope all goes well for you and your family. It's rough times, on top of rough times.

Best wishes to you and yours...! I have gone through this thread and your decks are absolute works of art...When you get back into the shop, I'll have some business for you...
I really hate to do this, but the previous PMs over the past several months havent really accomplished much other than you saying it's almost done and youll be shipping soon. Payment was received July 22nd, I have the paypal info to back it up. I would really like to receive a board or a refund. Both would be very much appriciated. I hate to be the black spot on your business, which makes very nice boards, but so far I have received not as much as a shipping notice. Its been 5 months since I ordered...
Disappointed customer,
Andrew
Right on Eddy,
The total will be $91.00 shipping included. I'm just going off your info and I calculated shipping for Harlingen TX.
You do want the thicker size right? Stiff? Oh yeah, did you want it drilled for old or new school truck mounts?
Now just to let you know, most of the time it does take me 3-4 weeks to make a board. Sometimes sooner or even a bit longer. If this is alright with you then awesome, I'll get going on it as soon as I can. Thanks man.
Austin
Andrew I feel your pain. But truly why did you all order your boards from Arcane. Why? Well price. We hit a recession. All of us decided to buy good looking boards at descent prices. Why all the other longboard companies decided to gouge your eyes out selling the same piece of wood for 165$. Austin is making boards for the love of it. I do not think he has gotten RICH. I too have been waiting since July. Not that I am going anywhere. Keep making your boards Austin. As for the other longboard companies that are still trying to get RICH off of the longboard craze. Archie: People ask the question... what's a RocknRolla? And I tell 'em - it's not about drugs, drums, and hospital drips, oh no. There's more there than that, my friend. We all like a bit of the good life - some the money, some the drugs, other the sex game, the glamour, or the fame. But a RocknRolla, oh, he's different. Why? Because a real RocknRolla wants the ####### lot.
Maybe because I have just woken up, but I did not understand a bit of the message from the last guy... Who's Andrew? Besides the fact that it's my name...
I didnt order because of price, I never really factored that in too much. I ordered because he makes a great lineup of boards and I would rather support the even smaller business to give them a chance in this economy, whereas these other companies have already got their feet off the ground.
But on the other hand, I will say that even though we dont know too much, there is a lot going on in Austin's life with his family and all.... It's just when some of us order our board in the end of July, and have been told a long time ago that there is only a couple boards that still need to be shipped... And most of us had plans for these boards and maybe even take them somewhere on vacation with us in the winter...

That was me he quoted, and if moneys the issue Id rather just get mine back...
Everyone has issues, I just wish I would have known the reason I havent received my board several months ago. 6 months is a ridiculous time to wait for a mini. I dont like being a hardass, but sometimes the situation merits it.
