Laws in Mexico?
Hey anyone know what the law says about skatin in Mexico (Puebla to be exact) imma be visiting this x-mas and wanted to figure out if I should bring my skates or not.
I'd ask my family but knowing them they'd tell me "ahhh its ok, don't worry about it!" and then i'd end up getting arested.
mmmm... mole!

hmmm.. I've only been to Puebla once and its not very skateboard friendly, probably the cops are fine with it but if your in the historic centre then it will be hard to skate because of the crowds and the street is very narrow and cobblestone at parts, the roads are very hilly and would be nice to bomb but hey are mostly two lane and a lot of traffic. rollerblades would work prolly.

Re: Laws in Mexico?
Their good attitude towards skating is/will be directly proportional to the amount of cash you have...

Re: Laws in Mexico?
Have you been to Mexico?
They may not all be douche bags, but a vast majority of them will let you do pretty much whatever you want if the price is right.

We used to play soccer and football on a street, cop showed up most times and we just run or jmp on our bikes,5 minutes later we were back playing on the street again, good old days.
We broke a couple of winshields tho
lol and no you don't bribe a cop for a lil thing like that.

Re: Laws in Mexico?
the only time I di bribe a cop in Mexico,I was 15 and was like 2 hours far from home, driving my dad's car with a trailer and no plates on trailer and I did't had a licence.I gave 50 pesos(5 bucks) and he let me go.Then I got smarter and ran away from cops every time they tried to pull me over

Re: Laws in Mexico?
All I know is that when I went to Tijuana for a service project with my school, cops looked more like the army, but I already know the reason for that and I know that all of Mexico isn't in a full fledged war against drug traffickers. But yea I wouldn't #### with them, when they pulled a truck over they had 3 guys with assault rifles, a sniper, a machine gunner and a guy with a rifle off 30 feet away behind a building, THEY GO HARD.

Re: Laws in Mexico?
This in instance where i must really say for your safety "i you have to ask then don't"
Make sure you're confident of the language and mannerisms of the people there.
Honestly i'd be more worried about the locals then the police unless you are on a main highway.

The locals I ran into were ridiculously nice, they loved our attempts at asking how much a pastry was, and then talked to us in fluent English. I'd be more worried about the cops, since a lot of them do take your money (Mexico as you probably know is quite corrupt in it's government). But I agree with Manny, be careful. But hey I was only there for a week so i'm sure there's more to stuff down there, and that the area you're going to is not like Tijuana, but i'm just telling you my experience in Mexico.
Tijuana has the steepest hills i've ever seen in my life btw, not skatable because they have like deeply grooved pavement to give vehicles traction. But when I was in the back of a Toyota pickup going to a work site, the guys pickup stalled going up a hill with 6 of us in the back and he had to back down the hill, skidding the entire way, and then had to floor it when he got to the bottom; good times. Like it was hard to walk up the hill, it took me considerable effort to walk up, it was like walking up a set of stairs only it was a street.

Re: Laws in Mexico?
most people are nice in mexico, the only problem its that drivers are not as nice like here,if you are walking riding a bicycle etc... on the road they won't give you room when the pass by you, they will pass really close to you that you will feel the mirror flying next to you,Puebla its not a bad area.its in a flat area surrounded by mountains ,so to find good hills you may have to drive a lil bit.

Re: Laws in Mexico?
Ok well it seems Puebla is a little different from where I am from, more civilized .
My parents are both from Tijuana and i live in South San Diego you can see the border from my house at night it looks like stars.
Bombing straight down a hill in TJ is impossible you gotta be watching out for all the cracks, warped sidewalks, monster pot holes the size of small craters transition from cement to pavement because they ran out of building materials and trash.
I love it!
One of the old parks my uncles would skate.

MJK crazy story about the truck!
I've always been scared of that happening to me. Yay for automatic tranny cars.
