why would you skate drexel when upenn is right next to it. drexel campus is #### compared to upenn campus
Any good session is going to encompass both campuses and the surrounding area. And honestly both campuses have some fun spots, but neither has anything I'd actually stick around for. Too much traffic and too many pedestrians to not just cruise around from one mini spot to the next.
I will say that Penn security is pretty cool with longboarders, and the actual cops at Penn's police department tend to be as well. One of them wanted to know about my mini the other day, said he wanted to get his son one.
I love how this thread is comprised of people i already skate with (Macrae and evilchurch)
but yeah, i'm at drexel, will be co-oping it up in the fall, so i dont know if i'll still be on campus but yeah me and evilchurch get out regularly....
honestly ive never thought about if either cmapus is good to skate on. I just know penn is mad nicer cuz ive been there plenty a time. Come to think of it drexel might be good for skating because its got that grungy, "ive never been cleaned in my life" look and no one probly cares if you skate there. Penn's just nice to be around cuz everythings green and looks like benjamin franklin built it

Penn is alright if you're just sort of cruising in the bike lane or on the sidewalks, which tend to be pretty wide (although they can be very busy). There's too much traffic and too many pedestrians everywhere to do anything more serious than cruising, though. That's why I love my mini so much - it's so tiny and maneuverable that it makes my commute (which goes all the way across Penn's campus, then Drexel's) a little bit exciting, despite the fact that the environment's so limited.
Given how many times I've almost gotten hit by car doors or run over by people running lights or making illegal turns, if I'm going to do anything more exciting in this area than just cruising with traffic or pedestrian-slalom, it's either going to be in a parking lot (Drexel has some decent ones, although they're sort of hidden) or out further west where the traffic thins out.

honestly you can skate street pretty easily in this area....well i sort of have to with my dancer....lol
I'm a freshman at Penn, so I'm really close to Drexel. I'm still kind of...not good at skating, but please contact me whenever you feel like skating. It's really boring skating alone, and I feel like I'd get better faster if I had experienced people around.
