Penn is alright if you're just sort of cruising in the bike lane or on the sidewalks, which tend to be pretty wide (although they can be very busy). There's too much traffic and too many pedestrians everywhere to do anything more serious than cruising, though. That's why I love my mini so much - it's so tiny and maneuverable that it makes my commute (which goes all the way across Penn's campus, then Drexel's) a little bit exciting, despite the fact that the environment's so limited.
Given how many times I've almost gotten hit by car doors or run over by people running lights or making illegal turns, if I'm going to do anything more exciting in this area than just cruising with traffic or pedestrian-slalom, it's either going to be in a parking lot (Drexel has some decent ones, although they're sort of hidden) or out further west where the traffic thins out.
