Official Penn State Longboarding Club ('09 Active)
This is the beginning of the Penn State Longboarding Club. It has been inactive for quite some time now. We have three goals in mind:
1.) Get longboarding on campus legalized.
2.) Create a positive image of longboarding to the community.
3.) To have fun, and make friends.
Feel free to post here. I will update when possible with events and sessions.

Tell me about it Dean. It's not like we grind anything or mess anything up. I want to make a video of everyone skating around together picking up trash or something. For a little positive publicity and to get people involved.

We're trying to get as many people as possible to join and ride. You have kind of an excuse to make it down now too Sean since your sister-in-law(?) is here. Family visitation.

Re: Official Penn State Longboarding Club ('09 Active)
Honestly, even for normal boards its a bunch of BS.
i mean i skated in california before i moved here, and i brought it 4 transportation from class to class... i mean i dont skate street.. i skate tranny, and im talking miniramps.
i dont skate ledges, rails or anything.. i dont get why its "illegal" to ride along the street.. its a bunch of bs that bikes can be used, scooters can be used, but skateboards cannot.. itsnt that like discrimination?

Around? Legal areas? Haha. Honestly I like speedboarding. I rarely will plan to go out and cruise around town. I'd rather pack up the car and go hit up gnarly hills. The road behind Beaver Stadium that runs parallel to University drive is fun. University Dr down from the stadium is fun if you make the turn onto the ramp that goes to E. College Ave. Fox Hollow Rd is fun. Tussey Mountain is fun. The other side of Tussey is fast and fun. There are great awesome hills North such as Rattlesnake Pike in which you can easily enter the 60mph range. The hill I had the race on is the most fun hands down. No traffic speeds into the mid-upper 50mph range, nice turns. I'm going to be putting a signup sheet for the group in Skate Penn. Join the Facebook group that I posted down below in the post to Sean (MrPink.) We're going to meet when we decide will be best for everyone. Right now we're thinking probably Fridays at 6:00pm unless we decide otherwise during the week. I will be sending facebook notifications weekly with updates and stuff. If you have any other questions call me.

We had the same situation here at Virginia Tech . What worked in the long run was going to the head of the transportation department and presenting our argument, and now it's legal to skate on 'shared-use' walkways
