DE Slopes
I'm living in Newark right now trying to find some good hills to hit up when I'm not in class or work. Anyone have any good spots they know of? All I got is the parking garages at University of Delaware seeing as there right next to my apartment.

Re: DE Slopes
Not too many hills in Newark. Paper Mill Rd. is probably the best. You can check some of the developments off of there too. Also, there is a development called Arbor something, or other, off of Chestnut Hill Road. That's a good spot. I live in Wilmington, and we have a ton of stuff and some good garages too.

Re: DE Slopes
Depends what you like. Personally, I think the best garage is in Trinity (behind ING on Del. Ave.). That place is money on the weekends. Just the occasional crackhead, and some little roller skaters. Rockford Park area is solid too. There are some nice runs out that way, and the rich people won't try to run you over like in town. The best hills are actually out by Brandywine State Park, but those roads are sketchy for sure, and some reckless drivers too. Hit me up to skate sometime if you want. I'm always looking for anybody to roll with.

Re: DE Slopes
896 isn't too bad, and there is a shoulder almost the entire way down. Also, on North Campus of UD I like to string together a few hills that start at the top of the Christiana Towers parking lot, and ride all the way down to Sorority Row, you can get movin pretty good, just watch out for the Freshman in the crosswalk. They kinda just stare, and don't understand that I am going to have a REALLY hard time stopping for them if they want to play this game of chicken. I usually do it later at night just for that reason. Make sure you check behind Pencader Dining Hall before you make that run, UDPD likes to wait for cars to come speeding up that hill. I've skated past them on more then one occasion, but I still try not to risk it.

That's true. It's been so long since I lived in Newark that I forgot some spots. 896 is pretty good. There are some big-ass hills that will take you into White Clay down there. If you follow 896 out pass Carpenter State Park there is a development called Glen Farms. It is a huge development, tons of hills, very little traffic. Carpenter might be good too. It's been a while since I've been there, so i don't know the vibe. Good luck!!

The reservoir is also a really good run. Just make you sure can check slide or foot brake first, you get MOVING down that hill. It's off Paper Mill Road, just start skating up and look to the right, it's the giant circular mound sticking hundreds of feet above the street level.
