Default Hills, Ditches and Good Skating in the Suburbs of Philly

I go to school on the main line in PA near the King of Prussia mall and me and my friends have found a lot of awesome hills in Wayne, Berwyn, and in the surrounding area. Have you ever been to the dustbowl? It's an awesome ditch off of swedesford rd.

There are some great hills around here. A few runs we've been doing are over a mile long. Anyone else in the area know some good hills they would like to share? A few of my favorites are Brookwood rd, Wayne PA and Old state rd, Berwyn.

The Brookwood rd run is pretty long and a good relaxing ride with a great roll off so no need to slide to stop anywhere. On the other side of this neighborhood is another awesome run but it's pretty hard to bomb with no sliding for speed control. There isn't too much traffic so its a pretty awesome place to longboard. The blue line is an easy run the red line is real tough without sliding. The part that looks like a Z is the steepest part so it's pretty hard. I hit about 25-30 on both hills.

Old state road is a little shorter than Brookwood. We measured it to be around .7 miles. It's not a difficult run and it's very straight. This is another great road because of it's lack of cars and intersections.

If your in the area you should hit me up and check out some hills together. Anyone know any great roads close by? I'm right near Villanova and Valley Forge Park

Art museum is generally a pretty chill ride, along with the bike path.

i've heard valley forge has some sick runs. i've havnt had a chance to get up there though. i live in the collegeville/schwenksville area and my contact is on the mid atlantic contact list. if your ever around i'll show you some spots. its mainly sliding hills and minor hills though.

i'd love to ride that ditch. that near KoP right?

Hey Guys ,, I'm new to the mesg brd ...
Found it while GOOGLE searching "skatebrd ditches" in phila area

Most of you guy's will prob LOL @ this ,
I just turned 50 , got a cple ol' school brds dialed in a few months ago
    & I'm back shredding ,,,

I hear both sides of it
    #1 > "Grow Up" ....... ( F them )
    #2 > "Dude how old are you ? "
#3 > "Your pretty good ..... for an old dude "

Back in the late 70's we used to search out pools & ditches ( just like the Dogtown guy's )
as a matter of fact , long before the new construction in the KoP area
there was a cple ditches we sk8'd between the Rte 422 , east / west bound & sweedsford

There was also a building in Beryn on rte 30 before 252 ( west bound on the left )
w/ a "asphalt wave" but had gaurd rails at top ,, is that still there ?

I've heard rumors of this "dust bowl" & was told it was an abandoned sk8 park
up in the Reading area........ whats the word on that ?

Actually pretty surprised & happy to hear that the "dust bowl"
is the ditches behind the KOP Marriott

Also interested in any ditches 10 > 20 mile radius ( City Line ) area
Couple guys told me that many of the Corporate Buildings around Bala Cynwyd & Radnor Parking Lots have /are fresh surfaces

However one of my main interest in that KOP "dust bowl" ditches

If anyone has a lil' more info on this , please PM me
as I saw a few old posts here ....
that the Frickin Cops are still busting chops 4 Sk8'g

where to park , how to get in .... & where to ditch if the Cops show.... etc

    Thanks
    Shred on !

the dust bowl is fun and we parked right in front of the trail and skated it and had no trouble actually someone staying in the building came out to see what we were doing and saw the dust bowl and skated with us

We used to hit up a ditch around there behind a big Certain-Teed insulation building after urethane wheels came in around 1975.

The Rte 422 (bypass as it was called) was skated dh in 64 and 65 before it was opened to traffic.

Yea maybe you didnt run into trouble. But maybe you alerted people to the area, so the next group who goes there will get busted. If people are nice enough to share spots, please try to be inconspicuous. Parking right there is kind of foolish. When I was 16 we could go there without problems, now I get busted every time.
