(almost)Any given saturday I'm willing to go out and skate with fishers, so if anyone wants some company at the park let me know. As long as it isn't balls freezing cold, I get enough of that at work.

Re: Lansdowne Skate Park
Not completely sure about hours that day, from the website:
" Further information on registration and hours of operation are available through the Lansdowne-Riverview/Baltimore Highlands Recreation Office at 410-887-1439 between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Email: lansdowne-rp@baltimorecountymd.gov "
Someone get the scoop on Monday.
I realllly hope I can make it out on Friday, if so I'll bring my rig and make an edit for Beast Coast.
Rain date?

Are people determined to be in attendance rain or shine? I mean if Ryan is correct then there is a chance that we get rained out.

I don't know if it's gonna rain or not, I was just asking what if it does.
Saturday would actually work better for me, because I don't think I can get a ride Friday, but whatever.

Re: Lansdowne Skate Park
I'm going to try to show. If it's raining then I'm bummed and won't. If it's threatening but not then I'm making the drive. I'll play it by ear last minute.

Re: Lansdowne Skate Park
As of right now the weather channels seems to think the rain will miss the area tomorrow. Yesterday it said AM showers now I see 20% chance of rain, so it seems they don't think it's going to happen.
That said they do predict temperatures hovering in the ####### 30's so...ya know do yourselves some favors in the clothing department.

Re: Lansdowne Skate Park
You should keep in mind that if the ground is the slightest bit wet its gonna be closed... at this point even if it stopped raining now I think the crete would still be pretty wet tomorrow, but who knows.

I'm thinking it should be good, it's dry here after rain yesterday, so it should be able to open. Also they bumped up the temperature to be in the 40's so it shouldn't be as sucky.

Re: Lansdowne Skate Park
I was there around 1-ish. The dude (I need to learn his name) that runs the place wasn't confident it was fully dry yet. After someone else showed up I think he wanted to let us skate so he went around with a leaf blower trying to get debris out and eventually let us in. At some point a couple street skaters showed up, two guys with gravity boards (friends of nino) showed.
So it wasn't so bad, most of the action near the end of the day. The cold wasn't even so bad if you had gloves and kept yourself busy.
And yeah, that was me you texted I was driving home though so I didn't wanna reply.
Shame there weren't more people, I'll be givin you all the stink eye.

Re: Lansdowne Skate Park
We got there and the guy wasn't letting anyone ride. He was complaining the place was wet............and it wasn't except for a couple small puddles. I had 2 kids with me who weren't interested in sitting still and trying to wait it out (neither was I really) so I took them to Olney and I'm glad I did because they killed the place. I didn't get to ride because I pretty much have abandoned the short board but it was cool watching them.
We'll try and get down another time.

Re: Lansdowne Skate Park
Has anyone ever considered a longboard park contest? What would be the chances the parks and recs people would let it happen? That might be a fun thing to consider next year.

Re: Lansdowne Skate Park
I know some of the regulars hold slalom competitions at landsdowne.
And by the way, I think I saw you leaving. He opened it maybe 40 minutes later at most. I just ate my lunch and got in by the time I was done. They guy's nice, he'd rather see us skate and just wants to be sure we aren't going to hurt ourselves. I'm thinking it probably would have been fine but I understand his caution and I'm sure by now he is familiar with the place.
