With that big roll in above the lower bowl with the mogul how is the air people are catching off that thing? I bet some of them kids are flying!!
I guess you didn't notice his handicapped tag, he has a REALLY bad limp. He's super nice though, and a minute after I showed up some other kid showed and decided to wait, so he got out of the truck and started leafblowing all the debris out, then let us in.
Pre restoration gap over what would now be the asphalt walkway
Same guy getting some air at a different gap, different result:

That first gap is called the spit gap, and some guys still kill it. The asphalt path is in the gap now. Second one I don't think anyone's ever done. Glad I introduced the Downer a few months ago to you Josh, you're like the only other regular on this site now.
And Olney is another amazing park, the pool there is so gnar. Glad the day wasn't wasted for you guys.

Re: Lansdowne Skate Park
I love how the gravity guys just kill it there.
I may go to olney at some point too, but maybe next year when I have a board that's a little less kooky.

Re: Lansdowne Skate Park
Yep, I hear Cabbage skates there pretty often, actually. He's a MD local. Here's a good clip of him shredding up the place, obviously before the renovation, because the bowl's filled up with water. GRAVITY SKATEBOARDS | CABBAGE (At the bottom where it says "VIDEO," it's the one on the right)
Anyone want to try to set another date?

Re: Lansdowne Skate Park
I'm not far from Lansdowne and would love to come out and hook up with some of you guys. All of my gear was stolen out of my truck last week, which was a real drag. and I'm in the process of replacing it.
Wife just landed a nice bonus at work and offered to buy me a new board, which is killer, so that just leaves pads and helmet and I should be all set in the next few weeks.
Lansdowne and the now RIP Riverside Park bowl in South Baltimore are where I learned how to ride. I pretty much lived at the downer from about '85 till '94. Sessions used to be so sick, now most of the time when I go it's just me and 1 or 2 other kids.
Subscribing to this thread and hope to meet some of you cats sometime soon.

Re: Lansdowne Skate Park
I'm down to set another date.
#### is gonna be cold, so I don't wanna have anyone agree to show up and then whimp out because it was 32* outside...
I'm all in favor of skating the downer when possible and I know people like to say they enjoy having a park to themselves but I am always excited to see people skate. So if anyone has a time that's goof for them let me know. Sundays might be iffy because I don't ever know if I'm gonna have band practice, saturdays kinda suck because I work in the morning, but I can try to make it out.

**** the cold and **** the snow.
We should set a date. CAN'T WAIT to sesh there again, just got a Gravity Spoon Nose and that board looks like it was built for shredding Lansdowne.

Re: Lansdowne Skate Park
I am down for some Downer action. I went skating today and it wasn't too bad out. I actually like skating in the cold because I am not all sweaty when I get done.
I am free pretty much every weekend except the weekend after Christmas.

Re: Lansdowne Skate Park
Holy *expletive deleted* Mann, you've got a decent collection going. I actually wanna try riding round on the glider, that's one of two boards I'm really considering at the moment.
Hell if it comes down to it I can just wear my thermal jumpsuit, I'll look like a douche but I'll be the warmest dude there. I'm in favor of a sesh, I don't like going if there isn't gonna be someone else there. Someone claim a weekend and I'll try to show up. As usual my friends probably can't come with, holiday retail ####.

GET ONE. One of the best boards ever, no doubt, with 66mm wheels and Ace or Indy hybrids.
And yeah, haha, I'm up to 6 boards now, it's awesome. I really need a board rack or something. Mark's completes have really been catching my attention recently.

YOU SIR, ARE A GEAR ADDICT
It's either the glider or a sojourn. I have to decide if I want another flat stiff board or if I want try one with a bit more shape and flex. Indy hybrids are the goal, but I may have to buy a deck first and get the trucks later, just running it on my randals for now. I think the SV2 is going to ride lower which is probably gonna win in the end.
I'm paying for college though, lets see when I can afford a new board...
again though, if people wanna do this lets call it.
I might not have practice this sunday. Sundays work better for me because I can actually get some rest before driving out, on a saturday I'd suck....so bad.
So anyone down for a sunday sesh?

I'm down for a session this Sunday.

Re: Lansdowne Skate Park
Weeeeell maybe not, we'll have to keep an eye on weather. The weather channel is saying 40% chance for some kind of wet mess to be falling from the sky on sunday...so weather dependent.

Hey Mu, That was me and my friend. It was nice meeting you and shredding. Chuck is the dude who works the gate and he is cool. He sits in his truck on the cold days. He can be a stickler for the rules. So bring your pads and if you plan to hop the fence be gone before he gets there around noon these days and show back up. In the old days like one person was saying it used to get rowdy. The stories are hilarious. Get some old peeps talking about it next time your there and you will laugh your ass off.
No Idea you guys had a sesh planned but it would have been cool to meet a few others on here. In the warmer months we skate there as often as we can and with a bigger crew usually. That was our last 09 sesh. Always have to say goodbye before the winter hits. We usually dont hit it from here on out until spring and just sesh the indoor spots.
Hope to see some of you in the spring.

I'd be down to hit up some indoor spots too for that matter, I just don't know any, I'm kind of new at this. And from the snippets I heard, you guys did have some interesting stories...
Today it said wind chill put it around 7* when I got home from work I still went and skated for a couple minutes, I just don't wanna give it up, so if there are good sessions going on indoors I'd be SO in favor of trying some out as long as the drive is under 2 hours. Come spring I'll probably be at landsdowne a lot.

Right on. Most of the indoor stuff are regular skate spots so you would have to bring something short or a longboard with a tail that you could drop in on. all of them are in the greater Balt/DC area. We did have some interesting conversations that day haha.

My board has a decent kick on it actually, the large wheels interfere a bit, but it's functional. If I changed out my springs I'd probably be better off for it though. My friend has an old Almost board I can just take though, so not a big problem there...bushings on it are rock solid though...
