    I'm from maryland, Middletown, MD.

We've got a nice group of guys (plus some girl), and pretty great hills around here.

I have some good carving hills and two steeps right in front of my house. The steeps are very short though. Additionally, there's a gnarly multi-mile stretch of bikepath that I use for long distance pumping. It has a grocery store halfway through which is great for pitstops and bathroom breaks. When the road isn't crowded, I just use that. It's baby-rump smooooothhhh. Arguably just as smooth as tennis court riding. I'm currently working on getting permission from a nearby parking garage to let longboarders use it over the weekends.

Revelation2, The one in Frederick or Charles County? I'm slightly closer to Middletown, Charles County during the school year. Just slighty. If it's Frederick, definitely home in Rockville. If it's peachy, we should session. I have a bunch of people both in Rockville and at St. Mary's who have longboards, but most of them use it as an occasional toy to play with instead of letting it become the obsession that it has become for me.

I'm in SoCal for college, but I'm from Bethesda, MD and I'll be home later in the summer. I can think of some places around my house that have nice hills to bomb.

Bethesda?!!? That place is super close to me (~20 minute drive?), and that's where thisisme is from. I'm going to have to subscribe to E-mail notifications about this thread. I encourage you all to do the same.

I'm proud to say I will soon be apart of the gang with a longboard to ride.
For now, I have just been riding my bike, but I just purchased an ultra sweet speedboard from Roodog.

I can't wait to carve some of the hills up here in Middletown (Frederick County).

In our "Longboarding Gang", there are 9 of us. 7 of us live ing walking distance from each others houses, but it is about 10 minutes to the farthest one of our houses.

How are the hills down in Rockville?

The hills are perfect for the kind of riding I enjoy.

We have some gradual flats for cruising and long distance pumping, mellow hills for carving, and a few steeps (not too steep) for bombing or high speed carving and sliding. I'm constantly finding new routes within skating distance. Most of my longboarding regulars are friends from college though a good portion of them live in Maryland. I heard that there's a big longboarding scene in a nearby area. I'm going to check it out when I get some time. Middletown's 40 MapQuest minutes. Probably not worth coming down unless we got a bigger session going.

Yeah, if we get a big enough session, goingwe will diffently join in. I have no problem going down there anyways, because I have family that lives in the area (Kensington), and I am kind of familiar with the area.

Providing the weather holds up, I'll be hosting a longboarding cruise and spread the stoke session this coming Monday and Tuesday. Most longboarding will be done Monday if everything goes to plan. It'll be held here in Rockville, Maryland. PM/IM me if you're up for it, and I'll give more info.

I doubt I will be able to attend, because my boad isn't finished yet. George said that my trucks will be coming in on Monday, and I still haven't placed my order for the mounting hardware, shock pads and bushings. Maybe some other time.

I'm hoping to visit Lansdowne skatepark sometime between August 3 through August 7. I do know that I'll be in Baltimore from the 4th through the 6th. The most likely day is the 6th. Just thought I'd throw it out there for anyone who'd like to check out a part of skateboarding history with me.
