Hey All...I am slightly new to the sport and live in Baltimore City...I have found a few good hills in South Baltimore to carve down. Anyone know of some good safe (as safe as it gets I guess) Hills to ride in the City. I almost got hit by a car yesterday...looking for some safer hills to go down. I feel like my best bet is going to be in the ghetto during the day when no one is out...ha.
Awesome! I'm trying to find hills too. The problem is intersections! Fallsl Rd coming out of Hampden is a good hill. Also I want to go check this road that snakes through the back of Druid Hill park. It's not a continuous hill - many ups and downs, but definately a good spot for practicing slides and tight turns. Also some of the public golf courses might be contenders. I've been out into Baltimore county and found some chill hills. Yesterday, I hit up a good spot in Perry Hall. Very suburban, not much traffic. Also near the dam at Loch Raven. Still looking for a nice long hill.
What hills were you bombing in South Baltimore?
Let me know what you find! I'm all about hitting up some good spots!

The Loch Raven hills can be fast, steep, and fun. If you find yourself at Loch Raven you should check out Towson for fun spots. I ride there alot. I have heard Perry Hall has some nice hills but have yet to ride there.
I know very little of spots in Bmore except garages I want to hit and S. Bmore is all about Lansdowne to me. However you can always come and ride with us in Bel Air. We have a session at 1pm every Sunday at Stalefish Board Co. Check out our thread.
I just finished bombing some hills on Harford Rd in Hamilton. Not huge, but fun anyway. 4am bombing is nice, almost no traffic...
I do most of my riding at night, Must be nocturnal. There are alot of parts of Harford Rd that I would love to ride especially some of the northern parts. Imagine crusing the Sisters. However the chances are high that you would get taken out by a random Civic or Porsche driving at Mach 4.

Putty Hill road between Lach Raven and Perring Pkwy. Register Ave just off of Loch Raven . I hav'nt hit these hills, but they would be awesome.
regester is ####### awesome especially coming the other way. that was my first big hill that i ever rode too. and right off of it is overlook park which has a really nice roller hockey rink that is sooo smooth.

dude i have dreams of hitting harford road going south right after glen arm road. im pretty sure thats the sisters.
also look up where notre dame prep is and check out some of the hill around there. St. francis is the only one i can think of right now, however old people will call the cops on you there. so just dont be dicks.
Okay then, I'm not the only one who's had the Harford Rd fantasy. Yes, the Glen Arm and south portion is appealing! I've studied it in the car, and the pavement gets pretty gnarly where it drops into the wooded portion. Also, further up Harford Road, where that nice set of twisty turnies is, is also crazy. I have skated some more mellow hills in that area, not unlike the where the Bel Air sessions go down. There's a lot of untapped spots out there!
theres also what i call the triple set, where the road drops like 50 feet and then funs flat for a little while and then does it 2 more times. just way to many cars on harford road to make it worthwhile for me.

Intersections are the biggest problem, especially since I haven't really got the whole stopping thing down. I have been working on toe side check slides (working on carving with a mini longboard) just to slow things down...When I hit it usually the board completely stops and I don't leaving with asphalt in my elbows.
I actually drove down to my parents house in Cape St. Claire (couple exits past annapolis) the other day and found some great hills (more like bunny slopes but I am a beginner) that were smooth and in neighborhoods with not too much traffic.
