CannonBoard Run - Sunday June 14

Discuss here. EARLY START required to avoid a high volume of bicycle traffic on the trail. Carpool from spots in the Twin Cities. Meet in Cannon Falls. Cannon Valley Trail runs from Cannon Falls to Red Wing. 19 miles one way. Rest Area (Sag Wagon Pick Up possible) at 10 miles. Nice push into Red Wing for the group after the run. Van transportation will be provided back to CF. More details to follow. Please indicate your Twin Cities location and confirm your attendance in this thread. If it looks like rain on Sunday we will consider Saturday June 13 as our alternate date. Water and snacks will be provided at the 10 mile rest area.

So the schedule is tough to coordinate across all participants. I would like to use the June 14 run as a discovery run for future CannonBoard Runs. Hopefully we can get a few key members on the first run and learn what works and what we want to change for Run #2.

lame, i'm goin to be annoyed if i miss it. i wont be able to board till the end of august soon.
then after that who knows when i'll be back in minneapolis to board again.
otherwise where i'm moving there are a few sweet hills around

there's also a giant camp out rave going on in cannon falls that weekend ^_^

Have at it guys. I am out of town June 5-8 so I won't be able to particpate. The intent of the first CannonBoard event was to discover and document how to run a larger group event on the 19 mile trail. Please keep this in mind if you head out and test the trail.

Start Time Discussion: The earlier the better. I may already be in Cannon Falls. How do we want to coordinate the car pool from the Twin Cities to CF?

Is 8am a good time to start in CF?. I will arrange a food stop at Welch MN (10 mile mark) and we will have a 7 passenger van at Red Wing for the return ride. I am a fan of Godfather's Pizza and there is one right at the end of the trail in Red Wing. With the push and rest stops we should hit Red Wing about 11am.

We will have a couple of younger riders join us who are local to CF so we might get spread out a little. There is a $3 daily trail pass fee.

I will have a number of slalom boards in CF. We have a spot where we set up a tight slalom course. If there is interest (and energy) to run the cones, we can do that after returning to CF.

Anyway, I guess I'm not much for organized events but have a blast ... that trail is friggin awesome as you know ... what city are you in? there are some pretty awesome pumping trails around here that we hit up pretty regularly.
