    Default sk8ing in Brainerd, MN???

Taking a trip to Brainerd, MN in mid-July. Can anyone tell me if there are decent hills for skating in or around the Brainerd area?

    Many thanks!

Pretty flat around Brainerd. Lake country doncha know. There is one decent hill just south of there that I've always wanted to stop and skate, but always too set on getting north.

371 is the main N-S highway through Brainerd. South end of town is Hwy 210. West on 210 for about 10 miles or so is Pilager. Turn left on Hwy 64 to go down main street Pillager. South on Hwy 64 for about 5 miles or so, and the hill will be obvious. Straight shot att a decent grade for about a quarter mile or so. 2 lane road, watch out for kooks like me high tailing it to the lake.

Lemme know how it goes. Not gonna seem like much to a Coloradikal however.

Your time might be better spent looking for the native silverfish................... Hour north on 371 to Leech Lake, home of the Leech Lake strain of a mans' fish.....
Skate 'em if you got 'em,

Whoa whoa whoa. You must be looking at the wrong end of Brainerd. Head north on 371 from the 371/210 intersection and take a left on the third stoplight onto County road 77. That road is THE #### for longboarding. I've lived in Brainerd for a few years and I work on a resort on 77 and people longboard that thing all the time. It goes for about 30-35 miles and the more you go, the hillier and more beautiful it gets. If you are in Brainerd and have a longboard definitely check it out. Stop by Madden's On Gull Lake while you are at it and say hi.
