I think we should do a minneapolis event... we could do slalom at dunwoody, downhill at afton #2, a push/pump race on the greenway (from uptown to the river, a bit under 5 miles of awesome pavement and minimal traffic intersections through minneapolis) and slide contest at the hairpin.

shoot for mid/early oct?

well idk how far we would travel because .secrets and i are both located in fargo, but as long as i an get a ride that would be fine with me
(side note: next weekend ill be in miniapolis, going to the vikings home opener)

Keynan i think this genius. I am totally down.

Do some sort of point system and the overall point winner is the weekend winner. Let me know in any sort of way if you need help planning. haha

We'd have to get lodging and whatnot set up if this is more than a day thing. I'll have to check my schedule but I am 100% down to go.

There would be multiple places to stay in Mpls. I have a few friends that would set us up with a place to stay.

This would be a 2 day event at the minimum.

ha, not to be a downer but idk about trying to quantify everything into one big point system... cause I'm sure there will be people who only DH, or only slalom, etc... but on the other hand, if we do have a group of people who are down to do every event, we could certainly try to tabulate a "king of the castle" type overall winner, just for fun.

anyway, lets start by trying to figure out a date. I nominate the weekend of oct 16-18, do I hear any seconds to my motion? yays, nays?

idk about getting any swag or anything, but IME free beer tends to motivate people, so I thought we might include something along those lines.

My crew is picked out because we try to be good at everything, so I would be interested in the points system. But nonetheless, it would be cool to have a DH winner, Push Race Winner, etc winner, then a King of the Castle too.

oh yeah, I suppose it would be better to keep things all-ages friendly.

well in any case. I'm thinking this has to be in one of the first three weeks of october... any later is just asking for trouble, weather-wise. let the voting begin!

yea for sure, and this weekend ill be in Minneapolis for the vikings home opener and im bringing my board so ill scout out some spots

16th-18th could work. I don't know why I though lodging would be an issue because I know like a million people in mpls/stp that I oughta visit. I just need to make sure I can get that weekend off. Should be able to.

Any other thoughts on the 16th-18th?

the 16-18 is MEA so I will be out visiting colleges and i know a lot of my friends will be. If it were another weekend I could probably get a Longboard Krew from Edina high.
also, does anyone know what is involved with securing some prizes? I would help with the calling and whatnot but I don't know where to begin

well, we would be bringing some sort of deck along to give away. The skate shop we sell our stuff in is willing to throw some stuff in. I am sure Bil from Heart Skate Co. would be able to toss some stuff in.

I don't think prizes will be any sort of an issue.
