Just wanted to say thank you so very much to everyone that had anything to do with EISF, because each person contributed greatly to its success. I'd especially like to thank:
-Bethel College, for being willing to host an event unlike anything the campus had seen before
-Jonathan Harms and Jeff Goad, for setting great courses and getting the timing set up
-My roommate Gary Ingle, for running the timer box and keeping tabs on who placed where. This day would have been a mess without his help.
-Everyone who took photos or video at the event and will show someone else what a good time was had today
-My family, for coming out to support the event
-THE SPONSORS, who made everyone's day at the end with a huge pile o' free stuff. SK8TRIP distribution (abec11, etc.), Gravity Boards, Earthwing, Loaded/O'tang, LongBoardLarry, Seismic, sk8kings, and Concrete Wave magazine - all of you guys really stepped it up. You took the smile on everyone's face and stretched it even bigger.
I'm looking forward to seeing photos and video pop up from this event, so bring it on!
I would write more but I've been up for just over 20 hours, running on about 3 hours of sleep, so it is TIME FOR BED. woo!
one more big thank you to everybody that made this event the huge success that it was (that's you guys!) good night!
Dave and Evan are back in WV safe and tired. Thanks for showing them a good time. Goad and Bobby- Ev loves hanging with you! Dave will post photos soon. Hey MI guys- leave some of your fast times behind- heard you guys rocked!

ok, I like all of ths conversation but.............I want to see pics
me too! I know sal's card got corrupted so it'll be a little bit before any show up, if they do. Kitty took a bunch of pictures but injured her knee yesterday while skating on her new board so she hasn't had much time to get the pictures edited and to me yet. As a side note, there may have been some pretty serious ligament damage, so if people could pray for that I'd appreciate it.
So, who else has pictures? I know there were other cameras out and around that day, so let's see them!!

And there you have it.

Collin and I left MN around 10:30 on Friday night. We drove until we got too tired and pulled over at at truck stop off the interstate. We slept for a couple of hours and continued on our way. We were getting close to Bethel College at around 9am CST and then ran into the time change to EST - we were late!
We arrived at Bethel around 10am EST and saw that the event was just starting to take form. We spent the day with a great group of skaters and learned a lot. We found some good local BarBQ for lunch too. We finished up the contests and left Mishiwaka around 7pm. We drove until about 1am and then needed some sleep. We ended up taking a wrong exit in the Chicago construction mess and added a scenic 60 additional miles to our journey.
We found that sleeping at official Rest Stops is preferred over truck stops. We travelled up Highway 61 (our tribute to Bob Dylan) and had a sunny Sunday morning drive. We stopped for brunch in Lake City MN (birth place of water skiing) and were back home by Noon.
Enjoy the videos, send Thank You notes to the sponsors and spread the Stoke! The Midwest skate scene is growing and with additional contests like the Epic will have a great future.
Thanks to Peter and his Crew for a great day and all the coordination of events, prizes!
