Might be able to get a group together to come up from Cleveland, Like 3 Guys maybe... How are the Garages? Pretty smooth?

They're all pretty smooth, 15-25 mph. most have a horizontal grit great for grip but choppy for sliding. some have a decent divider crack but you'll have no problem with 65mm + wheels.

Will this be a event friendly to newish people? I can tuck and heel side turn (left for me) just fine but not confident on high speed right turns.

From what I've gathered from your post you may not be comfortable racing (taking a turn vs. taking a turn 3-4 wide is a whole 'nother ballgame), but it would be good to get into the MI scene. Feel free to come on up and learn some things, spot, take some pictures, whatever. If you're not racing don't worry about dropping the 5 bones. I'm mostly just getting events organized to get the MI scene to grow. So, come on out! 8)

One of the garages has some decently fast right handers, so it might be fun to learn! Do you have a helmet and gloves?

Im pretty stoked for this, its meet at 8? for some reason i thought it was 9

It used to be 9 but I changed it to 8. It'll be way better this way.

Yup got gloves and helmet. I could do well in the all left turn garage but that's it. I just can't really toeside drift is all. Maybe I'll take a trip down there before the race and check it out, EL is only like 45 mins from Flint.

I'd be happy just to hang out and try to meet other boarders. Should I still sign up or whatever?

The fastest garage is all lefts. the fastest rights will be low 20's with plenty of space to turn. You should be good

Definitely sign up and come on out.
