Grand Rapids has some guys around. There are a couple who goto GVSU and some who goto GRCC and stuff. The problem is they don't seem too eager to session or ever go on a ride. We're trying to get a club going here at GVSU but everytime I try and organize something everyone backs out for no apparent reason

    Kenny,

My causin live in Holland. I come over there every once in a while. I'll be going over there in the next month, so mabye we can sesh... Last winter I was suprised to see the Chapter 11 was starting to get in Landyaghtz...great to see that theres finally longboarding there. You guys have some amazing hills there! Theres one on the way to some old bmx park that has a old jail next to it. I want to skate that so bad!
What type of skating do you do? Send me a PM.
I've been on the 'fish longer then you.

man that sucks. i got a buddy who lives in gr who i have yet to session with. he has some sick vids on his myspace. problem is the season is fading away quick.

edit= i really do whatever im able to.

    http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&z=17...,0.013497&om=1

the hill in the middle of that page is called 5mi hill. that is the sickest hill in gh but the road is too rough for powerslides and it goes strait into traffic. right under that is another hill called lake street. a long curve but it is hella fast. if you follow lake street back inland you will see some random roads before duncan park. those unnamed roads are the grand haven cemetary. those 3 hills are the mainstay of grand haven longboarding.

yea, the dreamshattering cold of lake michigan will be on us soon. I'm only on this side of the state during school which is 80% non-skating weather so I don't get a lot of time to scope out all the nice topography around here. I've found a couple nice hills but traffic seems to be a factor on most of them. If only some of the guys getting into LB will find this forum

I met two kids at the cemetary who live there. I forget their names. One had a chin tuft goatee thing kinda larger with a sector nine and gumballs. The other was smaller with shaggy hair and some deck that looked like a longer posickle with wheel cutouts and amber colored wheels. Bad description but maybe you know them?

I'd only be able to skate the 23rd I think. I usually go back to the eastside for thanksgiving and I might go hunting. Let's hope it isnt snowing yet because the lake effect can be crazy. I've already heard forecasts for snow this week....terrible. I;m up for sledding though! some of the hills in that area look crazy

yeah holcomb hill is radical. dont try riding it wet though.... 20mph slides infront of cars end bad....
last time i was there my friend got the wobbles and lost it over the edge, he missed the trees though.

for the kids you met i do not know them. my buddy in gh (his name is adam) is about 5'8" skinny soccer dude. he rides either a evo/r-2/gos or his new bombhills/r-2/topshelf.

I shred with Machete almost every sunday night downtown GR. Tearin up the parking garages is pretty sic. Best part is they all have elevators that go up all night long. Drop either of us a line.
