Thanks for the offer. I might have to head out to MSU. I've got a buddy there who rides his board to class all the time. Livonia's pretty damn boring. :P

cool thanks guys, ill check those out. I found some neighborhoods across the river neat 23 business that were pretty sweet, low traffic, no ped problems, roads were a little sketchy though.

Re: Michigan Longboarding!
Another new Michigan guy here. I mostly ride in the East Lansing area, though I spend some time in Battle Creek, and hang out with that Midway freak (How you doing man?) in Livonia now and then.

Great to find another person from EL. I'll post up some links:
Here is the link to the Push Race event we are holding in a little less than a month:
GGLB Presents: Madness In The Mitten Distance Race
And here is a link to our facebook page:

Also, where do you live and what are you riding?

Re: Michigan Longboarding!
I was thinking of doing a 100 mile barefoot skate this summer for charity, to raise money to buy shoes/boots for people who really need them. Unfortunately, I'm up in the UP where there's no long distance paved paths. Anyone know a good route I should check out downstate. I'm from Battle Creek so anything along the I-75 corridor would be great.

Sounds like fun (plus something I can plan, hah!)

Re: Michigan Longboarding!
Deja, you missed out on Saturday. Maybe next time?
Doors and I had a sick session and the weather couldn't have been better. I actually pulled off a couple nice pendy slides on the lemon freerides. They feel uber smooth now that they're broken in. I am so glad we were able to take advantage of the sun before Sunday puked on us.

Re: Michigan Longboarding!
Although sunday puked it was surprisingly dry today. Skated to class and didn't hit a single puddle. and it's almost warm out too
trying to decide if i'm gonna skate tonight or not. Guess it depends if my deck(s) or wheels come

Re: Michigan Longboarding!
Forgive my noobness, but is the advantage of these over an all wood deck is that they are lighter and stronger?
