I know it's kinda expensive, but for a group of 4 it's 100 round trip to east lansing if you can get someone to drive you to the metro location, and it leaves multiple times a day

Re: Michigan Longboarding!
Anyone feel free to chime in:
Got everything ready and planning on setting up the slalom rig tonight
Skennet up front I'm thinking a 10* wedge, and the rts in back is mounted on the kick, but i have a block that puts it back to zero, so i was thinking maybe a 12* dewedge for that?
Also in terms of bushings, i got used abec11 bushings (no idea what duro), and i also have some venoms, green stims (possibly in the skennet), and black radikal bushings (super hard so i'm thinking the rts), as well as khiros to play around with. Don't have much experience so i'll mostly just trial and error, but if anyone has more experience and wants to chime in (i.e. gogreen, yerkes, etc.) it'd be much appreciated.

Re: Michigan Longboarding!
Be ready to change it a lot when you're first setting up. Don't be scared to sit high, and run about as loose as you can without biting. The angles sound fine, or if you're running a really tight wheelbase or really fast course you might want a couple degrees less wedge up front. Just keep in mind you'll need much softer bushings in the front than in the back due to the difference in leverage created by wedging. basically, you have more direct leverage over a de-wedged truck so it needs more resistance to feel the same from the top.
There's no right or wrong way to do it, change bushings until it's comfortable for you. At that point, just keep practicing, set a couple courses and fine tune the tightness of the trucks.

Re: Michigan Longboarding!
Yeah follow Gogreens logic. Your gonna be playin around with alot of the components just because one riders preference varies so much. 12* dewedge for the rear sounds a bit much. Plus if you have a black Rad and some really hard duro bushings, those will be enough to deaden that back truck and give you some nice traction without having to compromise bending/breaking bolts for the rear if all that wedging isnt needed. But it is all preference. Might want to spend a whole day on it, set up a doable route and then mod your shiz and keep hitting the run until something clicks and feels really comfortable.

Re: Michigan Longboarding!
I had a really good idea. You know how the weather does the opposite of what you want it to do? Pretend you like snow and you're really excited it's coming back. Like sometimes when I look for something I pretend I'm looking for something else, and I find the thing I "wasn't" looking for.
I think it will work.
