Re: Michigan Longboarding!
He's always been cool to me...mabye that's because he got caught cheating for his son against me in the skim comp
I went up against his son 1st round...I pulled all kinds of bigs-pins, and 720 shuv-its; pretty spiffy. His son may have gotten on his board once. Well I lost. Long story short, everybody complained, and Ned realized that it was really a tie, so we had a rematch and I pwned.

m22 i have video from when me, bboomgaard (my little brother) and his buddy derek went up there, crazy, CRAZY hills on labor day weekend. i know were going back this summer. let me know when i'll be there.
Its just west of travers city............. how could you not know where sleeping bear dunes are at?
anyhow theres some biiiiiiig hills up there.
yeah that hill going north I think is M22 it splits Glen lake, huge long straight bomb. Actually thats right where we camp. theres other hills too. I'll be taking my board where ever I travel this year....... and will post up when and where i'm headed
I'd like to hit up an event or 2 down in Oh, Ky or WV?
Gotta say thanks to the admins and mods and everyone on the fish for making this new section. It's even a nice supprise to see the old threads in here. Nice work, thanks.
I don't drive much longboarding is really my own transportation most of the time, but I am in brighton michigan and would love to sesh. I can sometimes get a ride.
But yeah...sweet
Sweeeeeeeeeeeet, we go up there in August every year to camp.
We should try and get a bunch of peeps to have a session up there this August!
We camp right there at sleepybear camp grounds on the north east corner of M22 and M72, they have a pool and little store, really nice folks running the place. Electric/water at almost each site.
We would have a mini van to shuttle peeps up the hills
dude game on. Can't wait to buy a board and start ripping when it gets dry out
"makes me laugh, his "longboard expert" propogates SO many myths or whatever...
that, and his really cocky attitude REALLY turned me off of that place"
I've been doing my best to get him to go skating with us, I've been helping him out equipment wise and trying to convince him that many of his ideas are wrong. He's sliding now and riding decent gear, as well as actually being able to help somewhat more.

Yeah, I've convinced Ned to carry much better gear, he had a set of paris's, biltins, bigzigs, strikers, and a few other abec 11 wheels as well as bones hardcore bushings. A lot of the time I go in there with the board, he asks me what I'm riding or want to be riding, and the next time I stop in they have shifted their inventory a bit.

During the summer their stock is much bigger, most of their stuff is winter sport related right now, I can check what he has in stock tomorrow and post a bit more (and take pictures). When I got some from there he was asking around 50 for a set, but I have a slight discount from there because I've been making boards and getting the people to buy set-ups from there. This was all before I knew about MHS.

He won't do that, but I'm interested in the same. So if I get him to have one set of each, we can each buy a set and switch it up, or just do a combined order from MHS and I can get the price over 99.
