you should be able to find a bunch of 30-40 mph'ers in Northern, MI. As far as down here, the fastest hill I've heard of is in a town callled Clarkston. I've never been there but supposedly you can hit 40 with a decent wind.

So i'm totally stoked after that cone sesh today. Jay and alex were KILLING them, as usual. My setup is actually starting to get a little bit more dialed in (possibly wedging change, definitely harder bushings all around) and i almost pumped my arms in the right direction the last run (think i got it on the way back to the car)

Sick spot for slalom, super awesome, and that neighborhood was uber chill. Whenever you guys want cone partners feel free to give us a call, it was awesome, and keep us update on the yerkules project.

Wow, quadruple post here we go:

Just got off the phone with my supplier. Got some photocells, wireless transmitters, and relays on the way, so all we need is a timer and we will have wireless optical slalom timing.

+1 to everything Tags said. Sometimes cruising around campus is a real stoke bringer. We encountered maybe the biggest cunt I've met on campus, but whatever. pound is legit, and we put up mad fliers. Hopefully this brings up the turnout.

EDIT: Preston, ska1234 needs a ride up to Madness In The Mitten tomorrow from Brighton so if you're passing that way (ie out of Ann Arbor) let me know and we'll get you guys in touch.

I finished throwing that Comet together, you guys will laugh, but I'm using a bear front and paris in the rear. I got my desired result though- super turny on both ends, front steers more, and it feels really stable in the back despite being a 50 degree plate. it's a 46 incher but it's taking turns like a 30.

I do laugh, but you know your ####, and as long as it rides sweet i'm pumped for you. I saw that grip job and it was sick. And i've been digging on the bustin strike too, it looks like a sick board and that they got the problems with the old one fixed.

Lets rip it up on Saturday. I will be there around 8am. Gots to get there early and take advantage of the killer weather that is headed our way.

I am definitely bummed I didn't make it to the push race. I had too many adult beverages (the Legend-aid was very tasty that evening) the night before and didnt get up 'til the crack of noon. I guess I will have to make sure I am ready for the next one (especially if it is longer). I would be even more stoked about a gravity race. I am still thinking of putting something together for the Gaylord area in the summer and possibly further north. We may have to make a trek to the infamous ditch near Marquette.

By the way, anybody have experience with Seismic trucks? I am thinking about picking up a set.

seismic tucks are good pumpy trucks, I like them in a 45/30 setup on flexy boards. My loaded pintail was a blast on 155's. since they're not "sloppy" like most trucks, you can feel more stable than with randalls for example. keep in mind since the axles sit farther apart on them than on reverse kingpin tucks, your board will flex more than it did before, but it will also pump like nobodys business.

I didn't really like them on stiff boards (at high speeds especially), except as a rear truck. I feel like running both of them on a stiff board almost feels sketchy because they're such a precise truck that any movement causes immediate turning. They are somewhat of a precision truck feel for cheap, and hold turns with incredible traction because of this, but get bombing and they aren't too forgiving if you've got a 45 degree one up front. I love running a seismic 105 rear for slalom, beacuse it's precise and grippy, the 30 degrees makes it stable without wedging, and you can run a tracker up front for a sharp turn thats still forgiving in a straight line.

in short, yes, i've ridden seismics. they can be a miracle truck if you take the time to dial them in, but they're not for everyone.

You bastards. I wish I lived in Lansing these days. Never thought I'd say that.

Edit: Mount Pleasant isn't much of a mount. not even a bump. The fastest hill in town is 25 tops... and theres no legit slide hill ... or garages.
