ah we'll have to get together this summer and do that then. what kind of skating do you do??
Downhill seems to be my favorite, at least I've put the most funds into it, if you look at dboomgaards posts earlier we head up north to do dh. I've semi-recently gotten into slalom and ldping. Mostly quite a bit of everything. I'm getting into trick sliding, just learning flatspins, and I've attempted to try park skating, although I was on a HS setup in the pool, and on my slide deck just doing slides on the ramps.

nice, nice
yeah...i skate parks, dh (i'm not very fast though), slide, (getting into) slalom. unfortunately, i work most of the summer, so anything outside of a weekend skate trip would be pretty much out of the question. but yeah, anywhere in/around manistee or up north there would be sweet. if you're ever in the UP, let me know too
Well after reading more stuff.......... and checking out products........ I'm gonna make a press next week. Build my own decks....... Since I used to own a custom paint shop for Motorcycles i'll lay down some old school hotrod art I have lots of tools and can use them....... so why not just make own decks
Now surfing to some sites here in Michigan where I can buy some WOOD supplies

what part of the state are you from? you should be able to look in your phonebook for hardwood suppliers to buy baltic birch or maple veneer...or plywood, like i use
I have bought product from them in the past, my neighbor goes there quite often......... I'm gonna try the Aircraft ply first since its all mil spec etc... I started a thread in the building forum about what I'm going to do.........
Teddy, you're kidding, man. I live in between Tecumseh and Clinton on Tecumseh-Clinton Highway. I just made my first two boards and have two more in the works as we speak! Small world.
I had a custom motorcycle paint/fab shop for the last decade or so.............
However the economy in Michigan sucks and everyone decided they were going to open up one of those stOOpid "chopper stores" selling deep sea whale lures
Anyhow I'm back in college and just enjoying MY bikes, and working on MY bikes, and racing MY bikes with my kids........
Yeah I know Keith Diver........
Anyhow I want to get into some DH carving and limited speedboarding....... I can make just about anything......... I have access to a friends NC shop....... Index I work with him part time to make extra loot and have some fun working with a great friend Oh we also have a 1.2 mile killer dirtbike track............. anything from a 50cc CRF50 to a full blown CR500 can rip it
Well me and Doc Frye had a sweet session today at Mill Pond Park in Saline this am........
Both his decks ride nice
Theres a nice walkingpath that cuts off the road at the bottom of the hill and you can make a tight little right hand turn to dump back into the parking lot....... I crashed first time.... No worries since I wear a full motorcycle road race jacket and had MX pants on with sk8 Knee pads, sliding gloves and Protech helmet...... yeap everything hit pavement at 15-20mph.
Well Doc Frye attempted it and did the same thing......... tried to run it off, it worked for 2 leaps.......... he got some rash
Maybe this pic will post maybe not?
So it looks like from now on will post up some warning for more sessions at Mill Pond Park in Saline......... all sunday morings early before traffic.
I have a route planned for hitting the West Side of A2 also......... A2 sunday morning DH carving sessions.
i'd be interisted in hittin ann arbor for sure, i've got a friend out that way that will bomb with us too (and another friend out there who's usually down to film)
and WTF is up with this weather? I went skating on rain wheels the last couple days when it was around 40, and now its back to 10 degrees outside.

Hey guys, far stretch here, but is anyone around the Houghton / Hancock / Calumet area in the UP? Don't think there's a big skateboarding scene up here but I know there's a bunch of good hills and some long rarely-driven roads just asking to be rode on.
I noticed bucksaw87 is going to Northern, you still around? Ever come up to the Keweenaw?
I know it's winter right now, but I'm getting antsy at getting into longboarding, and would much rather do it with someone else, especially someone who knows more about what they're doing than I. =)
Anyways, if you're around Houghton, hit me up here or email me at bccarlso at gmail dot com.

i've never been up to houghton on a longboarding adventure, but i kinda wanted to check out the skatepark at the dee after hockey season is done. how's the scene up in houghton/calumet anyway?
Haven't been involved in the skating scene that much. Been to the Level 2 skate park above the Dee a few times, three or so before they rebuilt it, and once or twice after they rebuilt it. It's a decent park but it seems to be made more for bikers than skaters. Large coping and some bigger ramp stuff that not-so-pro (me) skaters couldn't really use.
Though Houghton is planning on building an outdoor skate park, but that's figured into its six year recreation plan. Shoot me an email or something if you're ever up this way after the snow melts and the sand is cleaned up.
