And free music is way better. It's looking like I'm not going to DEMF, I just took a gig Saturday night (C.R.E.A.M. get da money dolla dolla bill y'aaaaaaall) and am working Saturday morning. DJF is unbeatable, I actually played it 2 years ago and met all the musicians I wanted with my backstage pass.
Agreed, this spot is easily comparable to this spot if you ask me. I'm so stoked to have found this run, we just really gotta keep it chill and be nice to the neighbors and stuff. I'm thinking about talking to some of them, but it is quite fortunate that I know someone that lives there. PS: We have to bring a broom out next time and hit the backside. We could definitely hit 40 methinks, and if we broom it all off that's a sick run with a lot of turns and stuff!
EVERYONE: Wanna skate Clarkadark again Sunday? I can try early morning if I can get out of church (ya know I like going to church but I'd rather shred) or I can come by right after, which would be 1ish. Whoever goes next, bring a push broom or 2.
Yeah, I was talking about the Royal Oak Modern Bowl. I think it's $5 for the last hour of the session tomorrow night (8:30 to 9:30) and the same for Thursday night. I will be there tomorrow. I am sure it will be practically dead in the bowl like it was last time. Pure stoke! Talk to you tomorrow about that.
The new runs sound just as good if not better than the others I have skated in Clarky. I am ready to rip. Brooms have been a must lately. Many of the corners in the subs I have been skating are really messy (lots of loose gravel).

well i'm in indianapolis right now, and a quick check of the mapquest says its an 8 hour drive from east lansing to st louis going through chicago or indianapolis (exact same mileage strangely) but you guys would be welcome to spend the night at my house so you don't have to drive it all at once.
I think that friday and saturday were just jam/untimed sessions, then the real race was sunday, so i don't know for how much you guys would want to go down there, but we still have time to decide.

Yeah man you gotta join. I think it's winter that has brought all the crap out in these roads. The pavement wasn't THAT bad though, just a couple pot holes to watch out for. I'm serious about Quik-Creteing.
Yeah, it is horse shiz, but it is a nice bowl. $5 is much easier on the wallet than the $18 3 hour session We could ride the one outside near my house for free in the am if you would rather do that. There are no lights for night skating. I may have to look into that and talk to the Huntington Woods city board. Too bad Riley Skate Park in Farmington isn't finished yet. Should be a thing of beauty in a few weeks.
I have a couple bags of quick crete ready to be used. No need to go buy it if that's what you were going to do.

We are thinking about riding Modern on Thursday night. It was going to be tomorrow, but the Wings play, so we gotta root for the home team. Pete will be busy on Saturday, but I was thinking about heading out to Ann Arbor and am looking for some fellow shredders. Sunday is shaping up to be a nice Clarkston session.
So what does CSTTIBC stand for?

Re: Michigan Longboarding!

Re: Michigan Longboarding!
I can make a sunday sesh if jason is coming down.
my lightning bug broke/delamed. It's kinda my fault because I know it's been wet at one point in time. What sucks, is it didn't hold up nearly as well as one made a couple years prior, by any means. it was flexier from the start despite seeming heavier, and the other board having been well ridden. As much as I'd love one of the new nanotube boards I just couldn't justify the price tag living in lansing. I'll probably say #### a new insect and get an evo at this point.
That being said and me being broke in the meantime, Peter, I need quick measurements of your topmount comet if you can- total length, width at the widest point, and wheelbase from inner screws would be fine. if you really want to help me out, measure the width of the deck at the inner screws as well. I'm probably gonna cut down the (really) old bombhills to a manageable size topmount so I've got something to bomb on right now.

Re: Michigan Longboarding!
my trip to chicago was a constant string of moderately unfortunate events, but the road trip in all was pretty sweet. went to chi-town for more of a get together with preville/dallas (2 of the other GG OG's), stopped in GR on the way home to scope a route for another distance race. this trail goes on FOREVER (you literally couldn't skate it all in one day, it's amazing)

Re: Michigan Longboarding!
Also could i get peoples' input on something?
i have photobeams ready for slalom timing system but i have 2 options for wire:
the first is just normal wire (cat3 most likely just cause it is cheaper) any length up to 1000 feet. the only problem is having to wind and unwind it etc.
the second option is wireless transmitters. obviously easier hassle wise than actual wire. i hooked these up to test on a workbench and they have a delay. I figured this isn't a problem if we run single lane or have 2 lanes of wireless transmiters, because the delay will affect everybody. if we have to match it to another system it could cause problems, or if someone wanted to run cyberslalom or something like that we would have to figure out the exact delay for accurate timing.
So whatever you guys think (gogreen crew) i'll make happen

not sure, Preville is starting the infant stages of planning and I'll be talking to ya'll (i.e. everyone local) soon. We talked about the other events happening, and won't step on the wiggle war at all, but even if theres another event it's going to be more of a local thing for the GR boarders who don't travel a lot. beast of the east was on the same weekend as madness, but the people who came out wouldn't have been affected by missing that other contest.
as far as timers I'd go hard wired, especially if the remote sensors need batteries. If the optical senors need them anyway it's a null point. I figure if you've got a spot clear enough to set cones, wires aren't going to bother you. when thousandths count, and they do, you don't want arguments if you can help it.
I've got at least a few hundred feet of wire in my personal little workshop (i.e. "bedroom"), so we can give it a go.
