we'll have demo equipment so those interested in discovering what slalom is all about will be able get enlightened. And the entry fee will include BBQ rights to food
Looking forward to getting the ball rolling for slalom in Michigan.

So, we are looking to do a demo race on Sept 19th. Sorry if it conflicts with any other event but guess who's coming? Part of the crowd will be us midwestern dudes including Fadell, Mollica, Chicago Racers and perhaps Jason Williams to start. The idea is to inject some slalom blood into Michigan from the bottom of our hearts <3 .
More to come, just wanted to let you all know that we are preparing to announce it officially once I get the groundskeepers to permit access

edit, crap, you're right Pete. I'm really dead set on going to KY.... I really appreciate what all you guys are doing, but I think most of us "young guns" were booked for the Kentucky race. this could get interesting.

Croce-
I usually use a dremmel/sander bit for adding wheel wells, but J has a router now so that may serve you better.

Re: Michigan Longboarding!
Went to Sk8trip today and checked out some of the most mind blowing skate shizz! Chappy wans't there, but I was able to check out the warehouse which was filled with all sorts of crazyness! I was able to hold the new centrax wet and dry in 80a, all the new classic 'thane freerides and BZ, and also got to see chaps famous 6 wheeler in the flesh! There were some funky lookin trucks there too, possibly the new frye or liquid trucks, but it was from a distance so couldn't really tell. There was also a few 'Lords of dogtown' decks, ones actually used and ridden in the movie, including the late heath ledger's. It was all soo much stoke and sensory overload, got me really excited to save for new wheels! BTW the classic thane BZ and other wheels will be released on 9/9/09. No word yet on centrax, but they said the molds were just being cured so hopefully soon. Just thought I'd share.

Re: Michigan Longboarding!
OH PETE i think you and all the other Michigan Area cone crushers will be interested......with my connections (and my boss's connections) in the Grosse Pointe Area, i'm currently getting the ball rolling on what it would take to have a sponsored, city-sanctioned slalom event Grosse Pointe, a suburb of detroit. I'm talking blocking the roads, getting businesses to support us, even possibly having the mayor out to help. I have a pretty good idea of what it would take to make this a great event and one that the city would go for, and I think we would get a lot of guys out. I'm thinking it'll probably not happen till next season (i'm thinking late June/early July) so if i could get Pete and some other guys so start getting interest going amongst Michigan slalomers, i'm working on the city end of it. I'm excited guys.
Its still in the very early planning stages, so don't go out like "HEY DUDE THERE'S GONNA BE THIS HUGE RACE AND STUFF" but yeah you know what i mean. I'm like the screen writers at DC who've been hired to work on the Justice League Movie. (watch the vid):
