Re: Michigan Longboarding!
Hey dudes I have a few dozen of these things in a box. Made from 6061 aluminum.
Might you be able to use them for your "slalom" decks?
just curious

Re: Michigan Longboarding!
If anyone lives in northern Oakland country (Rochester, Avondale, Lake Orion, Oxford) or around here ever want to hook up and do some boarding, I'm down all the time.
Let me know.

You could. It'd act similar to a hard bushing, which is what we used before. The only problem is your foot can pivot around it and it doesn't lock your stance as much. You lose what JBH calls the "monkey paw" effect.

We made the first mold to be 48" with an inch of concave (hoping it will hold 3/4") and just a quarter in. of rocker. kind of a DH style. We're gonna try a kicktail mold next. We can make any size under 48" with it. Dual directional mold shape, cut out whatever shape that you want. that Not sure if it will work the way we did it, and the mold is slightly assymetrical, but we'll work out the kinks.

Sounds sick man. I'm so stoked out from this weekend. I'm down to skate whenever wherever this week. Especially if the weather stays nice. So any michigan peeps hit me up. Cemetery sesh again? get them slides proper?

So its possible to use two of them mounted to your style for maximum effectiveness?
I just thought somebody might be able to use them, its better than them sitting in a box.

Yeah man, low key ninja stylee. I think the second side street we found would be good for sliding too. There are a couple of rights and lefts that could add a fun twist. We should make it a nice long day of skating. I would like to hit up OU since I have never been there. I am down for any and every style tomorrow - cones (if Ross will bring them), slippin, bombing, pools, LDP, whatevs. I'm bringin the whole quiver.
Everybody meet at the Beek on Sunday at 2pm. Pete, Ross and I are definitely gonna be there. Lets take advantage of this Indian Summer action before Mutha Nature takes hold with her icy grip!!!
Next Friday in the E.L. is going to be a blast. If you aren't already going to be there, change your plans.

Re: Michigan Longboarding!
My Sk8kings Axe 2.5 Skully Carbon Fiber deck is waiting for me at the post office. I can't wait to get that puppy set up and run some cones! I kinda want to pick up a set of the PPS Racer X preconed wheels but will probably snag some split duro Zigs and call it a day. Now I just have to figure out the wedging/dewedging and bushing combos that feel best. Mwahahahaha, time to tinker....
Pete, why don't we build a roll in for your slalom race next year? It can't cost that much and then we have one whenever we need it.

Zigs it is then (anybody got some limes and lemons they wanna get rid of?). I kinda like the idea of a kick start more than a roll in too. It puts the emphasis of timing and speed purely on the ability of the rider. Now it's time to snag a riser kit and loads of hardware. I hear it bends and breaks a lot on slalom setups.

i disagree.
the ability of the rider is always in play (rolling in is an ability), and i'd say a roll in actually makes it a purer slalom competition (as in everyone is basically getting the same start) so it's about running cones, not about how strong your kick is or how fast you can get your feet set
