My favorite spot is a long trail from Midland to Clare(50 miles). One nice long flat forever smooth surface with beautiful surroundings for a long hike with your skateboard. One catch, you can enjoy it more if you push your skateboard with both legs.
I'm coming out to Michigan from California specifically for that! Sometime late spring or early Fall.
Another fun place is Bay City's skateboard park! Traverse City and Gaylord areas have some awesome hills with butter smooth asphalt weathered perfect!

Yeah man, whenever you're down for some DH just let me know. I need to see the clarkston spots too.
Yeah you do! And there's a sick spot in Howell that is awesome but you have to know how to shut down at 35ish MPH or footbrake a lot before the stop sign.

I have cousins out in howell but I haven't really been around. And yeah that shutdown might be too much right now. All in good time.
I have to keep hitting the beek!

End of summer/ Early fall in TC is a Microbrew and Music fest, which is pretty cool. That'd be a neato time to come out.
My brother and I made a few metal straps to give the boards a more snowboard type ride so we could jump wet terrain and what not. The ones in the video are the ghetto prototypes that we've been playing with for a few weeks. The final ones will be metal straps wrapped in padding, leather, and grip. We'd love to see what an experienced snowbarder could do on em. Check out the last minute in a half for some good bails. enjoy!

Go Green Longboarding is pleased to present Madness in the Mitten II - a 4.1 mile distance race, followed by an outlaw slide jam, a late night garage bomb, as well as some slalom the next day. Last year's event featured 31 push racers and about 10 casual ride alongs from across Michigan and Illinois. The event was a blast, so we're going to do it all over again, and this time we're adding slalom.
Where: Lansing, MI
When: April 17th and 18th, 2010
What: MADNESS IN THE MITTEN II
$10 entry – cash awarded to top 3 push racers.
Itinerary: – (subject to change)
Saturday April 17th
10:00 Meet at Ranney/Registration
11:00 Push Race begins
12:30 Meet at Ranney, Prizes awarded
1:00 Lunch
1:30 Caravan to Slide Hill
2:00 - 5:00 Outlaw Slide Jam real laid back not a contest or anything.
6:00 Barbecue at Jays, maybe a few cones for fun
8:00 - 11' ish Garage Skate
Kick back at Jay's house, everyone welcome to stay. limited room, so bring tents just in case.
Sunday April 18th
11:00 Hybrid Slalom, location TBD. Jam Style 3 or 4 runs.
1:00 Tight Slalom, location TBD. Likely single lane, maybe dual.
We are currently seeking permission for the hills. We have plenty of streets in a few different towns that we routinely set up timers and stuff on with no problems, so there will definitely be cones and times put down somewhere. Worst case scenario, We will travel 20 minutes to a country road in Mason where my parents live. I will post hill updates as they come. The event is not sanctioned, and the main focus is for everyone to have a good time. We expect some good local competition to be there and we hope it can serve as a season warm-up for Midwest slalomers, and maybe convert a few skaters from saturday into slalomers.
Sign-up - I have written ncdsa.com and hope to host the registration there. Entry fees will not be due until the day of the event, but please sign-up so we know approximately how many people to plan for, and so travelers can see how many fellow riders are expected. I will post updates as the sign up sheet becomes available.

I know pretty much all the same information is a few posts up in this thread, but here's the link to the thread dedicated to this event: Madness in the Mitten II
some information might be posted there instead of here.
