There's a subdivision on the west side over by the Star Cinemas that has crazy hills. I know where it is ... I just can't remember the name of it or the roads. My brother-in-law used to live there. Also right down town around the capitol building and on the UW campus. And in Fitchburg - behind that block off stores where the Great Dane and Coldstone is - nice smooth roads on decent hills. Best late at night though because with the stores and restaraunts there's a lot of traffic during the day.
There should be some nice runs around Devils head. If I remember correctly, the pavement out there is pretty nice.
Sauk County ROCKS! If you get over by LaValle head north outa town on 58 towards Mauston. Not too far outa town, on the right, is Pierce Road. It's a 45+ mph bomber. When you turn off 58, you go up hill. That's not the spot. Go over the top of the hill and down the other side. THAT's the spot. Also - just drive around the roads around Lake Redstone. All kinds of great hills. Decent road surface. Very little traffic.
later this summer all us Wisconsin longboarders have to set up a big jam session! Because i posted a thread looking for longboarders, then BAM! all these Wisconsin threads pop up! Awesome
sorry about the double post guys. but I started a facebook group. Wisconsin Longboarders. I don't have a pic for it yet. But I would really like if all you guys who do have facebook accounts to join soon. then we can start sharing spots and areas that have great hills. I would really like to try to put together a huge group meeting in the next couple of months, get a huge group picture and use that as our group pic on the page.
I really want to get as many of us together, because Mt. Horeb Madison, Sun Prairie are all within a couple hour drive of where I, so If I can make it, I'm sure we all could make it. It'd be a great thing for the sport in Heaven on Earth, known as Wisconsin.
