    Yea. What he said. Epic.

And don't let Snif fool ya. He's a real Kentucky Cone Killer!

And 32mph? You have to know that was in a city park. We know. It's not Maryhill. Fun though.Lots of it!

Will be traveling to Louisville from MN for work for the last week of August. Coming in town on a Sunday. Would like to check out some local skate spots. Not sure about the airline and more than one board - so I may have to decide, downhill or slalom. Would like to check out a local longboard shop - any recommendations? Also, I need to rent a mountain bike for the week to do some training - any suggestions on where to rent from?

No good longboard shops. Adrenaline Zone has some cheap ones but a good selection of wheels. Home has a few Gravity and better longboard decks.

Not sure about mtn bike rental. I'll have to ask around about that.

I have loaner decks for slalom if you would like. I don't know what my work schedule will be like (inventory in the middle of the busy season ((corporate are idiots)) ) but if I can, we should skate...if I can't, I'll give you directions to a few good hills and such.

i got a little me time in today. Found what will be a new slalom spot once they finish making the road. So far it looks great but no run out. They are building the run out section next.

I got in a little downhill cruising. No breaking 30 today but I still had fun.
Also scoping spots for another slalom contest for the future. I found a great ts/hybrid section, an awesome gs section and a section that I am thinking about head to head slalom cross sort of deal. That last one just occurred to me today.

Hit the park. First time to skate the park since the first of June. I still suck. Fun how that never changes. Maybe if I went more than every three months.

Saw a longboarder on the way home from the park. I had no chance to stop him or speak with him. Yet another longboarder in town. I know they are out there yet I never get to meet them except for a select few. Too bad.

Found yet another spot for slalom. This road is blocked off and not in use. No houses or buildings on it. It's a dead street. Long down hill with an up hill run out. I shall try to skate it this week and see how she rides. If it's any good I'm thinking longboard slalom jam. Fun!

Skated it today. The new hill is good. The surface is a bit rough in some spots but overall okay. The worst is confined to the center ridge.

The slope starts fairly gentle and then dips steeper a little over half way down. Then it's a nice steep roll out to shed speed fast. It can be skated either direction but one side is longer than the other and the longer side is better all around. The road needs a little sweeping and a lot of weed whacking. They are building condos up near the top. construction vehicles may use the top section when building is in progress but that is not a section I plan to skate anyway. I skated it with my grasshopper pintail AND my Red Baron slalom board. I ran pretty quick with no handling issues. Soft wheels might be the best way to go on this hill.

So today I find out that not only are there other longboarders in Louisville (some my own age)
    BUT
there are also guys that run slalom or had been doing it in the park on the weekends.
    Never when I am there.
    So where are they all?
Why don't they want to skate with me?
They don't even know me. How can they know that I suck already?

If you don't know them, how would they know you? Are you 100% sure they even exist? Where are you getting your information? I find it hard to believe that there are other guys running cones out there and you're just getting wind of it. Let alone guys that run slalom, but are nowhere to be found in cyberspace either.

When I have a little more time, I'll have to tell you about what tricks I've got up my sleeve. Pretty killer.

The guy at the skateshop told me. He assumed I was skating with those guys.

Also I see longboarders around the trendy shopping area of Bardstown Rd all the time but never when I am out of the car or traffic. I even read a letter in Concrete Wave from a guy my age here in Louisville. They are out there. I know it. I have proof.

What looked like a slow rolling hill turned out to be pretty fast. I have a pic of that hill. You start way up at the top right hand corner where all the trees are.

Okay. I'm going to try and skate this Sunday. Long Run for sure. The Blue Tile run for some cone action. Beyond that we will see. Cherokee and the Zoo area would be nice. I've got some retooled set ups to try out. Not sure about the time I'll get out yet. Check back closer to Sunday and I'll try to update.

If it's not cold it's wet or snowing or all three at once.
Not much skating going on for me right now. Shame. I have some trucks I really want to get dialed in and a couple sets of new wheels and a new board. I really need some skating. the wife has other ideas. You gotta hate home improvements. But once I get things painted and fixed and whatever makes the wife happy and the weather improves just a bit I hope to get some skating done. Time to hit up some of those hills I've been meaning to try. Make a few road trips. Get serious and have some fun. No sandbagging anymore. I still feel bad about that. Time to get faster and learn to use my arms. Also time to get my slides back. Oh and maybe a set of balls too. You can't get faster without a big set of balls. Hopefully Santa will bring me some nice downhill decks and a full face helmet this Christmas. I'd even be happy to get them for Hanukkah even. Then comes the asking for leathers for my birthday. Cause if you're all geared up you have to be good, right. Right? okay maybe not. Maybe I'll get to do some snowboarding this year. One could hope.

Makes me feel a little better that your situation is not too much better than up here in the frozen trunda. One small bonus is that the local hills have started to open up for snowboarding. Here is Welch Village - 20 minutes from home - The Mountain | Photo Gallery ||Welch Village Ski and Snowboard Area

Your post reminds me - I need to start leaving strategically placed ads for gear around the house so there are enough ideas about what should be under the tree this year.

Our group is getting together for a Turkey DH next Saturday - freezing in a tuck position may occur

Forget the hints. I just e-mail my wish list straight to gift buying source complete with links. Worked well last year. Nothing is prettier than a whole slew of Hot Spots under the tree and SK8Kings gift certificates. Although I'm thinking the helmet and a Subsonic board might rival the wheels under the tree. Let's hope I find out.

No kidding about the weather. This weather has sucked the past week or so. Just a couple really cold skate sessions and one cold+wet one. Schools were canceled in the surrounding counties here (except mine of course) and I couldn't make the 45 minute drive in my car so I had to bum a ride there, and a ride from two different people back.

And we don't even have it bad yet.
Although if it would just stay cold and snowed I could go snowboarding. I have yet to really try that.
Oh well. Thanksgiving is coming up and I get to head down south for a few days. Hopefully I can get some skating in then. Pump and carve and bomb and maybe snake and grind. or just sit around the house all day and spend quality time with the family.

The weather was nice on Sunday. I ran some cones. I took a slam. Now I'm hurt and can't skate even if I wanted too. This weekend just sucked.

I went and checked out my slalom hill today.
Someone dump a pile of roofing shingles right in the road. Now I have to go shovel that crap up next time I want to go ride.

    Outlaw race this spring/summer?
