No skating this weekend. Too much shmutz on the road. salt, melting snow and run off. Then it gets cold again and rain or snow. Hopefully next weekend.

Spider, we are going to have to work on your foot braking. You wore the lip off one of my wheels. No big deal. Although it took me like a day to figure out what happened to that wheel. Funny stuff. How was that next day after your fall?

So that sucks i might take a board out anyways cant be to much sludge at irquois they dont salt that closed off road i think. ill check it out regardless. So if that dont pan out call me tomorrow sniff i will bring the old acoustic over and get you playin some bass if you are not busy. I need something to do and if i cant skate music is the next best thing.

The road by my moms i need to check out see whats new in that direction im sure they salted the holy crap out of it they always do being as its a school neighborhood. This weather is annoying, but its not really the weather that bothers me so much as all the crap they put on the roads to fight the weather I think its done in excess sometimes and makes for really shitty skating

I figure that with the shaded aspect of the road and area at Iroquois that you're gonna have left over snow and lots of melt run off.
As for me tomorrow? My day is booked. Too much work around the house and taxes to do. Fun Fun

    Don't worry about the wheel.

I think i found a few more spots to set up for a sunday slalom race. One is going to be pretty quick. I need to go back and do a dry run on the spots for true condition and speed. Next weekend Rush! Cone killing time.

    tut tut looks like rain.
The weatherman is saying it's going to rain all weekend. I say we go find him and break his knees. I'm ready to skate. I've got a few changes I want to try to one of my slalom boards. Can't do that if it won't stop raining and snowing.

Weather forcast is improving for the weekend. We just have to get past somemore snow and rain between now and then. If the weather works out and the roads are dry we'll get some skating in. I'm really leaning towards some cone runs. I've got a few good spots for saturday and a few that are only good on sunday and late nights. One may be more GS than anything.

My new slalom hill is fairly clean now. I should just have to do a little sweeping to remove rocks and dirt clods. So we'll be hitting that up for sure next weekend. In fact I will probably sweep and skate it tomorrow afternoon. It's a brand new road. Doesn't even have a name yet that I know. I'm going to go and test out some course lines to get a feel for it. I skated it today a little with the Voodoo and the Mummy. So have your slalom hat on 'cause it's time for slalom.

All are invited to come out next weekend and try it. I'll have spare boards for everyone to try. I can give directions and let everyone know when the time has been decided on.

If you've been following this thread (anyone? anyone? is there anybody out there?), you have heard me talk about the new hill by my house. Today I swept the top portion and set up cones on it for the first time. I've ran it a few times with other cruiser boards and it ran okay. As a hill for slalom it truly rules. I ran two different 25 cone courses on it today. This hill gets quick and rides pretty smooth. There are a few rough patches in the surface of the road. On the main part of the hill there is a manhole that sticks up and the surface around it is rough and loose, although easy to work around. I ran a tight course and a hybrid course. Both felt good. I had to use a little more run out than I thought I would. I'm going to have to sweep the rest of the road in order to make it easier to shed speed at the bottom. Eventually I hope that some of the construction areas get cleaned up and I can run some longer courses. So far this has been the best hill I've run slalom on in Louisville.

SO....weather permitting next weekend will deffently be a slalom weekend.

Saturday is looking more and more like a no go. Latest forcast is for highs bellow freezing and snow flurries. Sunday still looks good.
