Sorry Bobby. Not trying to rub it in......much. Just want to let everyone know and maybe someone will want to join along.

The ride this weekend. Saturday. Tight slalom on a fast hill. I needed the practice. Then I switched the bottom to offset. Very fun and bit challenging. I saw two owls.
Sunday was just out the door and go where ever. No car travel. I hit up a few hills in the area and one I never tried before. I picked the wrong set up. Very scarry ride today. Rough roads at speed on wheels that love to drift with trucks that were way to loose for the speeds I was getting to. The cool breeze made for very dry eyes. I need to do this more often. I realized I'm losing my downhill balls. Way too nervous on many of the rides today.

Cone-tucky Derby Outlaw Slalom Jam. I've been pitching this around and location has been giving us problems. Last time I tried to mention it it got jinxed. But I'm trying it again. Sunday June 8. Practice at 10. Racing starts at 11. Chances of getting busted pretty good. Chance that the course may get shut down due to construction are very high. Chance of a good time are even better.

Another wrinkle in the slalom race I hope to put on. i said June 8 but that date is getting pushed back. I'll post it up when we get it figured out. I'm still shooting for June.

    Hey Sniffleless,
You going to be around tomorrow? I was thinking about coming down and hanging out a bit. Maybe you could show me some of these spots and we could possibly ride alittle. The knee is taking way longer than I thought, but every day it gets a bit better. If we ride, I would have to take it easy. No super fast stuff. Tight would be great. Can you call me @ (513) 270.0708? Let me know bro'. Bobby T

My slalom hill has improved. A good hour of sweeping and it should be good to go.
I have also found a few new hills to try out for slalom and a crazy hill for serious downhill bombing or insane GS. Real insane.

    Hey Sniff,
Sounds all good. I hope your slalom hill hangs in there for you for awhile. I would hate to see you put all that work into cleaning it up just to see construction trucks dragging mud all over it again.

I think I told you about the Roe Crossfire that I was getting from that guy in Sarasota. It came and it is like brand new. Only one hang up. It's a 38" board!!! I thought that the Crossfire was a 28" TS board. Well..........it is. One version of it. I didn't know about the longer one. Oh well. Now I have a Roe SGS board. A little flexy, but super sweet. Nice, mellow concave with an easy camber. The quiver grows. I'm sure it outshines my ability. Guess I could suck AND be boardless!

OK. The knee. Whatever. Man, this is getting old. I guess I have to put it in perpective. It hasn't been three weeks yet. Sure seems longer, but I'm sure It'll come around.

Skate one for me bro'! Bobby

Final decision on the hill for the slalom race will be this weekend. That means I get to go skate a bunch of hills today. Yeah! But the wife is tagging along and I have to wait for her to get out of the shower and get ready. So who knows when I'll get started today. ummm......yeah.

Go sign up for the race over at ncdsa.com. Even if you might not come. Help drum up some intrest for me please. There are only maybe four of us on this thread anyway.

So I've been hitting the park again. I got that new park board and I'm just stoked on skating bowls again. I'm way rusty at it. But I get a little better each time I go. Have to get those ramp legs back. Everyone loves my new board. I've let so many guys try it out. The wider boards just feel so much better under my feet when I'm skating transition. I love my Guapo! Great shape and size.

I've also been trying out the Carver CX truck that I was given. It's a super turny/carvey front truck. I have it teamed up with an Indy 169 on my Carve 39 board. That board is a total surfer now. Super pumpy. You can pump the crap out of those trucks. Although they are a little twitchy. I still like my Bennetts better. The Carvers can over turn sometimes. I haven't been pitched yet but I see it coming.

Holy crap! I found some good downhill and slalom spots today. Also found a good place for sliding.

I was testing out a hill for slalom worthiness. I started way up at the top, higher than I would plan to start the slalom run from. Even carving to control speed I got going fast. I was shaking when I was done. Never wobbled tho. Great hill. I'll have to go back with the proper gear. The slalom board just made things that much more scary. Running GS/downhill speeds on 104mm loose trucks is something else. Still, no speed wobbles or anything.

I also found some good suicide hills I may have to try.

That's awesome Sniff. Love those kinda days.
I signed up for the race.............I'm hoping not to be too embarassed. Actually, you should find a way to "have" me win since it's on my birthday and all. haha
Listen. I finally got out and rode a bit today.Thought I'd try the knee out. I'm pretty happy about how that all went. I only went out for a short time, but it finally seems rideable! Not 100% or really even close, but way better and at least rideable. No all day sessions or anything.
I'm starting to get a pretty happening quiver together. That's all good.
Can you tell me roughly how long it's going to take me to get down there from Cincy? I'm having my son's graduation party here the night before the race and need to know what time I need to roll outa here.

From Cincy to Louisville it's only like 2 hours if that. The race location is on the east side of Louisville too. So that's even closer for you.

    Hey Sniff...

What kind of hill ya got. I'm a mainline, hard-carvin, street-rigged mountainboard junkie now.

What's the grade like? How long is the run? Straight or curved?

I'm always lookin' for some epic, carvin' asphalt!

So far my hills around here are either short and steep or short and mellow. However I have some longer ones too. There are some nice long ones in Cherokee Park. There is a nice one by the zoo. Actually there are all kinds by the zoo. A nice sort of long one. Some real steep short ones. My new find is Long Run Park. Not the longest runs but long enough. Not as mellow as it looks. What looked like a slow rolling hill turned out to be pretty fast. I have a pic of that hill. You start way up at the top right hand corner where all the trees are.

Yea, I knew it took 2 hrs or so to Louisville but I wasn't really sure where you wanted to do this.

Looks like a great hill right there bro.

Might be interested in meeting up with you Louisville Bluegrass Boys on June 1. Riding solo is fun but it would be nice to meet some riders rather than live in isolation in my rural backwater. Don't really need to compete, but I'm up for a rally.

Your grade looks like it could be a little gentle for carving with a street mountainboard. My RTR 2-wheel would probably get flying on it -- problem is I'm not good at stopping it. On my mountainboards, I don't have any problems carving off speed though.

These two are a couple of my runs. The first is the gentlest (0.2 mi). A litttle too gentle for the mountainboards. It's best for my RTR and dirtsurfer:

This one is my second steepest -- moderate grade warm-up for intense street mountainboard carving (125 yards):

My steepest run has about the same amount of drop and distance but starts off a bit steeper and comes off into a semi-bowled parking lot.

Any chance, we could hit up one of your nice steep runs after the Outlaw Rally?
