Illinois
I know I've tried this with little success before, but since there's a new forum I thought I would try again. Anybody on the fish that lives in or near the city that wants to skate should PM me. The only person I really know of is Julian from Chicago Longboards and a few of his friends. I live in the city but would be happy to travel to some spots. Let me know!

Re: Illinois
It's a longshot but I go to school in Peoria. If anyone lives there and/or is in town with their board, I'm always down for skating.

Re: Illinois
I'm about to move back to Chicago after being in Brooklyn for a few years. Got used to some decent slopes out here and am really concerned about getting my fix. I already read the other posts about typical spots (museum campus, etc), but I'd be down to meet up with anybody who can show me a few good garages. I'll be living in Ukranian Village.
Because of the lack of hills, I've been thinking about other ways of going fast. Has anybody had any luck with attaching a windsurfing sail or something of the like to a board, for use on the lakefront path. Ive seen a few videos showing such a thing in Cali, but I'm not sure how much control you can get with it and if its a feasible concept.

Re: Illinois
I'm going to college at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. I live in the Quad cities with my parents in the summer. Every once in awhile some guys in Saint Louis get together to ride at Babler state park. Mostly streetlugers but there is a couple people who speedboard. about 45mph on the slow hill for speedboard. 50-55 on the fast hill which has a wicked dip near the bottom.

Attention chicago land longboarders!!!!
This summer will be the first year of hopefully many to come attack the trail rides...
this will be an all day event at the salt creek bike trails... It will start at the 26th street entrance and events will begin there. there will be food and prizes but I need to make shure we have at least 25 ppl on board to get a picnic pavillion permit... The event is presented by me, troy Kviz, Totally board in lagrange IL, Adam Squared, Concrete Wave. There will be some prizes and possibly a best trick competition and at the end a race to bemis. Please Suggest dates and other suggestions... Im thinking Sometime in June. Let me know and spread the word. THIS WILL BE A FREE EVENT...
