welcome to the neighborhood. Always looking for new blood and people to ride with. When the wife lets me out of the house that is. lol. Here is a link to the thread that we have been using to meet up.
Hopefully we'll be doing some riding next weekend. I'm mostly doing the slalom thing right now but a little downhill is good for the soul. If we can't meet up I'll drop you a few locations to try.
There is a nice hill there in Shepardsville. You can see it from the interstate (I-65). Traffic can be busy sometimes tho.
Yeah, I just got into town and today's my first day of work. I travel for my job but I'll be here quite a bit during the summer months (which is great.)
I'll start posting in that thread you linked when I have any day's off.
The landscape is pretty different here compared to North Carolina and the Appalachians, hopefully there are some nice spots here. I'm a little depressed about being away from the blue ridge though...

Some of the roads in downtown are a bit rough. Lots of car and pedestrian traffic in some parts. The skatepark is fun and riding along the riverfront is cool. Lots of parking garages.
There are a few good hills in the city. Around Cherokee Park mostly in the neighborhoods and in the neighborhoods around the zoo there are some good hills. We've got a few long mellow cruise spots too. Iroquois is a nice one. I have a couple secret real hills too that may be more to your NC mountain style likings.
