Angry longboarding in WI

Hey, first post from a newbie. I've been learning the ropes from my gf who has been longboarding for a few years. Today we got stopped by the cops while at a state park because of a call from someone who said they had a "close call" with one of us while they were driving by. Neither one of us nor anyone with us had came close to hitting or being hit by a car but whatever. The cop took our names etc but said since this was a state park we could skate on the blacktop around but the road leading down was technically part of the road and it wouldn't be legal to skate on it. This really pist us off naturally since cops watched us skate down that hill all the time. The cop that was with him had sat and saw us skating down the same hill for almost two hours without saying or doing anything. So does anyone know the deal? You can ride a bike or inline skates down the road but no longboarding in the milwaukee wi area? Anyone from here that knows of good places were people don't care? I just can't believe some a hole felt the need to call the cops on us.

In Lapham peak park, it is okay to skate as long as you are padded up. Not sure if legal = okay, but whatevs.

Roads at Devil's Lake State park are sooooo inviting. But they also have stern warning signs around the park that prohibit skateboarding. That being said, my daughter and I have violated that edict. They're just too good to not skate.

On the other hand, if there is a sign posted somewhere - or I suppose that even if there isn't - and some douche says there are skateboarders causing problems, the authorities HAVE to do something. To serve and protect, right? Too bad it always has to go in favor of the least common denominator.

You did right by being complient. Like you said - the Man has watched you skate there before and never said anything. The next time you go back there the whining moroist won't be there and you can skate again, right?

Lol...

just ordered my earthwing corchia w/ ew slide-a wheels, bones red bearings, tracker 184mm trucks and some grip tape. =D My gravity wheels are pretty good, but 90a and still pretty grippy in my opinion, so when they bite they bite, at least on the modest hills here and they really slow you down when sliding. I figured id get those harder wheels on the new deck since I need more of a slippery wheel to carry the slide farther on less steep areas.
