Hey Palindon - can we get something going out your way in July? I have plans for July 12, could be persuaded to head out west the other weekends. I have my Garmin ready ... let's see how fast we go.
hell yes, lets do it. how many people do you think will want to do this? i'm not sure what weekend will be best for me, but any of them should work out somehow. if there was a small group of guys and we did this on a weekday i could hook people up with a place to stay, get 2 good days of riding in.
by the way theres a ton of hills out here, but the better ones are sparse so we might have to do a bit of driving..
I dunno. It depends how many curious people read the thread.
Workin for a living sux, so weekdays would be tough for me. I'll come in my blazer, so I can haul 3 people in the back seat and one more in the front passenger seat. Lots of room in back to put boards.
I wanna take a ride on your Flushcut. I always wanted one of those. I took a ride on Bobby T's Evo last weekend. Nice. That's the problem with meeting and riding with other people. Y'all have nicer set-ups than I do. Makes me not like my own stuff.
for sure, i'd be up for trading boards for some runs. what are you riding for dh?
how fast would you be up for going? i'd like to start pushing up towards 50 mph, theres a couple good hills for that, too. i'd almost be up for spending a near whole day at this one hill... big, steep, gentle corners. start about half way up and work our way to the top. fun hill, i pushed a bit past 45 on it with a headwind. but theres still plenty of decent 35 mph hills to toy around on.
i think if we filled up your blazer that would be the perfect number of people, but i wouldn't be against having a few more people.
I have a top-mount Sec 9 Bombhills with Randall DH trucks and 76mm Fywheels and Bones 6-ball bearings. It does alright. I have ridden into the 50's, but not yet this year. Still a little rusty. I like the sound of that big hill you're talking about. Couple practice runs from partway up and I'll be good to go.
Hey Bilz. I know Dodgeville is waaaay the other side of Mad Towne from you, but does it sound like a worthwhile trip? My schedule would have to be July 19 or 26. There was a guy that came out for the Wiggle War from Sun Prairie named Jamal. Really cool, lotta stoke. And he lives like 2 blocks from me! I wanna see if I can get him to come along too.
Have you though any more about a Lapham Peak jam? With gas being close to $4/gal I'm looking for more things to do here in Wisconsin.
And another thing - I know a couple really nice hills up in Sauk County outside of LaValle. Another good one-day road trip to keep in mind.
