Re: Chicago Longboard Society
Sorry man I thought everyone bailed so me and the boys hit up Hinsdale. Super crazy. At the middle of each hill is a Stop sign. And at the bottom. Nobody wanted to spot so it was cross your fingers and pray. There was one near collision but no one got arrested and no one got rushed to the ER. Man Altair, I feel like I flaked on you. You said go without you so we left at like 11am. Just got back now. I'll make it up to you. You name the next session and I make time to be there. Although, from Thursday to next Monday I'll be ripping it up in a State with hills, but I'll be back in town Monday night. I'm all good for tomorrow though. I get home around 3pm so if you want to bring your deck to work of if you need a ride home to get your gear let me know.

My wife works in Hinsdale so sometimes I pretend to visit her then wander all over scouting hills. I'll definitely hit you up next time I go there. It would be great to have a guide. It don't think i was near a hospital though. which leads me to believe there's and even better hill. I'm getting excited to go back now. Those stop sign were like Russian Roulette. Justin

Re: Chicago Longboard Society
No worries, we can skate whenever, I went out myself last night and cruised hard for about 8 or so miles, headphones on, just riding. When ever you want to ride I am down, I would have to go home and get my deck before we go out, which puts me at home at 6 o'clock. If you PM me I can give you my contact info.

Re: Chicago Longboard Society
im usually down to ride in the city, but work during normal weekday business hours. so weekends or nights work pretty good for me.
does anybody know of any nice garages down here? the few ive found are bad set-ups: its like a long flat level for parking, then a quick little ramp down to the next one. im looking for something that slopes the entire way so i can carve it up...but im not looking to get arrested either, so chill security would be nice.

Re: Chicago Longboard Society
I think me and you are the only people who work 9-5 here, kinda cuts down the skate time during the week. There isn't any good parking garages that I know of, most aren't self park, and the ones that are I am sure will be to busy and probable not to kind on skaters.

Re: Chicago Longboard Society
yeah altair, sometimes this forum makes me feel really old. haha. are you in the city? from reading, i apparently need to make it out to lemont.
i live in uk. village and was just checking out google maps. i may have found a new garage to check out. ill scope it on my bike after work today. its sort of near the corner of halsted & chicago which is a decent spot of its own. there's a couple of runs that go down from that intersection, so i like to call it "halter tops".

Re: Chicago Longboard Society
I am pretty close to there, I work at the Merchandise Mart. Live up on the north side though. I feel pretty old as well, though I am only 24. I would love to ride anything with any level of speed. PM me, we can meet up sometime for rides.

Re: Chicago Longboard Society
Hi Guys! I also have just started longboarding and would love to join up with you all and cruise around. I live in the Gurnee area (six flags) and work a full time job out in Northbrook, IL. Also, I'm not to far from a train station so if there is anything going on down town I will always try my best to make it out.

Re: Chicago Longboard Society
good to see you guys got it going on! i've been in with some crews that race in and around the city or surf and skim the lake... we had a pretty good slalom hill to ride out by the morton arboretum and of course you know that lemont means the mountain. a good city cruise is the museum campus. we've had some of the swiss out there a while back.
been around a while too. worked at the skatepark we had back in '79 and had a part in putting together wilson.
these days i ride alone. i'll keep tabs on this thread to see what you guys are up to, maybe hook up some time.
