General Info: Thanks to Dave and ski2cool4u for recommending this hill. I just scouted it out this morning and it's long, smooth, and fast. I carved the whole way down and I was still going pretty fast. Definitely a good hill. We'll meet at the bottom and walk it up the first time to remove any sticks, leaves, stone, and debris on the road.

That's the hill I almost killed myself on. A friend was trying my board and he wanted to adjust my trucks. I let him. When he gave the board back, I tried adjusting the trucks back to what I like but I got it wrong. On the very next run I got horrible speed wobbles at top speed. On my previous runs I wasn't getting wobbles so I wasn't expecting it. I thought I'd be able to hang on and ride it out. but when I got to the flat at the bottom of the hill, I flew in the air and I did a forward somersault and landed on my shoulder/back and rolled forward like a giant innertube/Evil Knievel and the speed threw me up into the air again for a second somersault. I thought I was going to die. I had gloves on but that was all. Luckily I didn't hit my head. At least I was able to roll/bounce out of it rather than slapping down in a big skid of flesh on pavement. I wish I had been able to aim for the grassy lawn on the side. Dave was riding behind me and saw the fall. It was one of those horrible falls where things appear in slow motion. I had one previous slow motion fall when I was 14.
I think there had been some sloppy repairs to the cracks in the road. They had that white toilet paper tape stretched across the cracks. Or was it that the cracks were getting bigger? I don't remember. I just remember there was some issue with cracks in the road making the hill not as good as it used to be. The guys I was with said it used to be smoother before the cracks. Big wheels should make it over the cracks o.k.
The hill doesn't look like it will be fast but it gets going fast. If you want to slow down you have to do skid slides every once in a while or make as wide of a carve as you can.
The good part of that day was that I met Dave and tried his slalom board and now he and I slalom race every week.
this is like right in my neck of the woods! hopefully i can be there for this one, it sounds fast so I'm a little scared but i got some pads and hellmit so i will give anything a try.
just checked it out in my cartoay, just rolling down it was easily doing 30 mph. looks smooth and didnt see a car there on the loop the entier time i was there. cleaned my entier board in prep for it and think that will be there. As for the guy with the parking garadge idea ... i may have an in downtown in mpls at a parking ramp across from abbott. Its 8 stories smooth, and hardly any cars parked in it at night. jsut have to hit it late at night, and clear it with security first. Its very possible, security is cool and they want to get it on video before summer is out, they are great fun!

never heard of that one, but the one where i work is great at night, very few cars and it sjust a great ride, i am thinking of going and hitting it soon because its not that busy right now here at work. i keep my board in my trunk with my slipde gloves for days like this, just let me know if and or when you want to hit it and i can get us in.
Asfor this weekend i was curious if we would want to grill out or something, i live just a few miles from there and there are some great cruising trails that could end at staring lake pavilion (about a 4.5 mile ride round trip) where teres grills and some sick hills, let me know if your interested and we can see who has what for grilling out.

It was a good time today the hill was a blast and the people in the neighborhood couldn't have been cooler about it, come on you guys get on top of this! We would love to see more people come out, it seems like every meet there are new faces. Its really great to see that there actually are other longboarders in the TwinCities
