I just listened to about half of it - not bad

Who knew he could actually sing?

I actually liked Generation X. Billy solo, however, never did it for me.

    999 on the other hand...

I used to rock the Generation X too! And agreed, 999 was good stuff. Another good band from those days: Stiff Little Fingers! (i think they were formed a little later than 999 and GenX though). Of course the more youthful members of silverfish will now have to post to tell us that none of that stuff is punk rock, ha!

Yeah, the Gen X stuff was great. Heard about SLF, never got around to listening to any An album (yeah, I phuckin' said album!) that you two could recommend?

Interesting... I've been sampling some SLF, too. Even found some Sham 69 that I liked. It's really easy to see where Green Day's influences come from after listening to this stuff. Also been pumping Jesus & Mary Chain and Love & Rockets (in small amounts).

And on a more mellow note (bad pun not intended), been digging heavily on Alison Moyet (swoon) and The Beautiful South (as always).

LOVE Sham 69!!! Borstal Breakout is the best!

I saw the Jesus and Mary Chain a million years ago! They were great, they were opening for Depeche Mode at Giants Stadium.

I posted this somewhere else, but check out Cake - mellow, but very interesting.

Stiff Little Fingers were one of my favorite bands in High School.

"Hanx" is a good sampler. It's live.
"Infamable Material" is the best maybe. Its' the first and most punk.
"Nobody's Heroes" also is great and so is "Go For It"

Lots of comparisons to the Clash have been made.

Try "Infamable Material" it's all been re-released on CD recently.
