Re: hardcore bands
Anybody listen to The Mongoloids? They're playing in my town. They're fun live, but I lost a lot of respect for them if anybody kept up with that drama.

Re: hardcore bands
Saw Trapped under ice a while back in Montreal wasn't the band I came for (The Acacia Strain / Despised Icon / Cryptopsy) wasn't too impressed. It's the kinda band you have to know the lyrics / beat for. After listening to a couple songs, learning the vibe of the band, I definitely appreciate the band more.
On another note, Bury your dead and Through the eyes of the dead in march.
I've seen bury your dead a couple times and TTEOTD as well, each with all their different singers, the new through the eyes of the dead singer is ####### brutal as hell, but the new bury your dead singer / albums, not so much.
Anyone like the new Bane stuff ? So good to here new stuff from them.

new bury your dead singer sucks, but through the eyes of the dead's new album is so sick, singer started using highs but still keeps his growls ####### brutal

Yeah man, I'm glad they came out with another album. Their songs + their stage presence always is amazing.

Greg (the singer) stole money from the band and the band mates found out and called him out. They were about to head on tour so the first show (in their hometown) he showed up with all new bandmates and kicked everyone else out. At This is Hardcore fest (check it out if you haven't), he said something along the lines of "if you've heard any rumors about us, they're probably true. We're the Mongoloids." Then they started playing.
I'm pretty sure this is about after 10 times told the story, so I'm not sure how much is true.

I miss the days of real hardcore. Metal was metal and didn't need 10 other names to sound like they are attached to hardcore. When I was growing up in NYC in the 80s and 90s you didn't hear all this other sub-genre stuff. I think in the late 90s and early 2000s is when kids lost their friggin' minds and had to beg for some other identity. "Uh I play in a Megamathematicalgrindsludgescreamocore band..." When will it ever end?
amen... amen...

Sounds like some dirty stuff. Not sure how I feel about that, or if any of it's true.

has anyone seen the skit on SNL where it was a wedding and the dad of the bride plays a song with his band of yester year?
any way long story short.
its a HC band. with dave grohl on drums. they mimmic a few songs in one song alltogether, the ones that come to mind are "Institutionalized", some flag song, and i think some minor threat?
i cant link it due to the fact my school has youtube blocked.
