nothing, i just zone out on skating. if i had to supplement skating with music, drugs, or alcohol like some do, it would not be nearly as meaningful for me. skating is a pure release, and i need nothing else while skating.

I don't listen to music while riding, because I find it important to listen to what my wheels are doing on various terrain, in addition to sight and feel. Plus where I skate I need to make sure I hear any oncoming cars, pedestrians, animals, wannabe gangsters, cops, and whatever else may become an obstacle, threat, risk, or buzzkill for my riding...

As was so cogently pointed out by C.R. Stecyk III decades ago, skateboarding at its best is an anti-fascist activity that turns the modern industrial wasteland of concrete and pavement into a canvas for individual freedom and self expression. Riding what and how the skate industry corporate greedheads want you to is slipping back into robotic consumer drone status.
