the silverfish of music equiptment

so my Gf is all about music, she writes, sings and plays piano to her own songs, she is also a sound engineer at "ishlab studios " in brooklyn now she knows her stuff, and I dont, I am looking for a resource that is like silverfish for audio equipment
she loves old analog equipment and is fully capable to service and repair said equipment
I was thinking on the lines of a old suitcase keyboard, or a hand-held stereo recording ...thing. .. perhaps some microphones whatever it is, I just want the quality to be able to keep up with her personal growth - thank for the help
