-Rev. Horton Heat
-Rezurex
-Nekromantix
and a few others I cant remember at the moment.

(oh, & **** Tiger Army. They sound like hillbilly emo.)

My buddy talked me into seeing tiger army wednesday night. Not a big fan in the first place, but after seeing them live....I dislike them even more. They do have the bass player from calavera now, and he's pretty damn talented.
My favorites, DeadBolt, The Meteors, Batmobile, The Krewmen, The polekats, The Kilngons, King Kurt, Hank Ray. etc.
Knowing you crassy, I would assume you would like the more punk sounds of Demented are Go, the Barnyard Ballers, Mad Sin, and Os Calepticos.

Some of the japanese Psycho is pretty cool too, check out the mad mongols, and the battle of ninjamanz.

yeah, I think for the price they seem like a great deal. I had to do a little setup work on it, nothing major - a file here, a little sanding there. I just got a new set of fake gut style strings for it, a little easier on the fingers. And I got a used pickup on eBay, a Fishman for like $75.

Went & picked me up some Rev. yesterday.. im hooked.

Boe- Thats about what I figured one would set me back.. unfortunately the local highschools dont have any.. only one has a school band(and a jazzband, but the teacher owns the bass). Think I'd have any luck going to my local music store & seeing if they'd sell me one of the ones they use as rentals? I think they might have one thats just all dented up or has a small, patchable hole for real cheap.... (i wanna paint it all up anyway..)

Sure, it's definitely worth a shot! As long as it's structurally cool, go for it! Like you said, a small patchable hole or two is cool - you've seen what MINE looks like. They might want to get a new bass to put into rental, by you buying the old one, they can get $$$ towards the new one.
