Anybody listen to non mainstream metal like Mudvayne, Slayer, Sepultura, etc? Went to the Slipknot concert a few weeks ago. Totally awesome! Lamb of God and Shadows Fall played with them.

I'm down with spultura. Really dig Lamb of god, seen them a few times, you dig mastadon or dillenger escape plan?

IMO most of those bands are pretty mainstream metal. but i like most of them. bury your dead is awesome and so is martyr AD.

Mainstream metal to me is like Metallica. Majority of non metal heads will know them but they won't know the aforementioned bands.

sure their the name most synonomously associated with heavy metal and they get the most airtime and media attention. but ya know why. BECAUSEE THEIR GOOD. besides b4 the black album they were very much underground. and that's when their best music was made

(lets face it the only good thing to come out of load and reload was fuel)

and besides slayer is pretty mainstreem to i see more slyer shirts at school than metallica ones same with slipknot. mudvae is much more underground then the aforementiond but i just don't like em. i dunno y but just dosent click with me.

Dude if you want fast download some dragon force. Not only is it NOT death metal but its just as fast if not faster with good melodic singing so you dont want to kill yourself while listening. I like metal now but not the hard **** with the devil yelling lyrics. Give me some blind gaurdian or sonata artica any day.

Hell yeah Dragon Force, Blind Guardian and S.A........or how about some Rhapsody, a little cheesy but still epic. Great posi skate music.

Rick, I saw Pantera - scariest show I've ever been to!!! Their fans were NUTS!!!!!!!

I also dig the 'Knot, saw 'em at Ozzfest years ago, amazing. I dig Lamb of God too, and Walls of Jericho

I saw Shadows Fall at at Club Krome and CBJB's with a very small turnout. The lead guitarist came out after the show at cb's and hung out with us for a little bit. Very cool band. I'm looking foward to seeing them and Soilwork at Ozzfest.

Hey Rick, they are all bands in pretty into. Im not going to say you are wrong with saying they are non-mainstream, but people who are into this type o kick ass metal will all know them. Get what i mean!?

Anyway, Im going to DOWNLOAD Festival at Donnington Park in less than 3 weeks now !! Stoked !!!

Im watching the 'deth on friday (as its their last UK gig aparently) and then Saturday will be the snickers stage \m/ and on Sunday im going to be all over the place !

Oh, and Malakai, I will be catching Mastodon ! Shame Dillinger arent playing, i missed em at Carling Weekend last year ..

I like Mudvayne. I was at this bar where they were playing "booty" music and this chic and I were trying to get the DJ to play the new 'vayne song which is on the radio. Better than the new Will Smith.

I've always been a big Slayer fan, Seasons in the Abyss and South of Heaven have always been my favorites. I don't ever seem to get tired of "Skeletons Of Society".
